My ScanGauge has been shipped. Should be here early next week. Can't wait to set it up and get some real insight into what is happening under the bonnet

Edit: Fitted using the windscreen mount from ScanGauge and it is working as advertised. Easy as...

    Pic here.

    Gauge set to:
    Water temp_____Voltage
ATF temp_______Boost (not sure I'll continue to use this)

No holes, no sticking it to the dash and you don't notice it until you want it and then you can see it through the steering wheel...

That location where you have mounted your Scanguage, (immediately in front of the left knee), is exactly where I have successfully mounted my Techonsha P3 Brake controller.
Its a really good spot for the Brake controller, as you can access it easily for manual trailer brake application....anyway, just a comment.

Hey Schniff, Did you use custom colour settings? If so, don't suppose you remember what you used??

I'm using it. At the moment it's in the bottom right of the windscreen. The cable just runs up the front of the dash with the excess coiled up behind the ScanGauge. It isn't prefect but actually doesn't look too bad - it is certainly quick & simple! Hiding the cable is on the "one day" list...

Mounted in the dash just above the cup holders where the GXL has the stereo. I have water temp, ATF, Boost & LPH Use all four to help be nice to the machinery, the boost is useful to time changing down before the lockup is booted on the auto. Yes the auto stays a lot cooler when kept locked.

              Hi,
I wish to display the auto transmission fluid temperature on my scangauge as I tow a caravan.

I have just purchased a scanguage11 (latest version) and have a Prado auto 150 update model D4D.

However, I am uncertain of the correct codes after reading all the threads on the scan gauge.
It appears that some may be using a code that shows the auto fluid temperature at the torque converter which is not I think what I want.

I would appreciate the correct codes for the temperature in the transmission itself.

              thanks if you can help

I have now got the same problem. Gauge has been working fine since installed on the 1/04/2015. No issue at.

This morning I notice my BST was sitting on -20 when warming up which usually sits at 0
With normal driving I used to get +5+8psi while now I get -8psi.
I put my foot flat to the floor up and hill which I know I get 14.2psi. now I'm getting readings up to 52+ psi

I went through the settings to confirm my parameters and all checks good.

                    Anyone else seen this issue?

This is a new unit from Ample Outdoors.

No for some reason it reads -3psi boost at idle and when backing off, and about 9psi max.

(pretty sure its v4.02 but I may have seen v4.12 but I will confirm)

This isnt the x-gauge, just the standard BST gauge programmed in.

Im not 100% sure with these fancy diesels, but Im pretty sure they dont run a vacuum.

Is there a way to calibrate the standard BST gauge or do I just need to programme a x-gauge in to read accuratly.

Might try unplugging it and plugging it back in...

                    Cheers
                    Chris

Decided to have another crack at fixing the issue. Pulled over on the side of the road and played with the setting..... yep. A user error. Somehow my parameter for psi was on something else.

                      all fix now.

Out of curiosity, what's the highest your boost and load reading gets to? I got my boost up to 12.3 and load got up to 91%.
Im assuming the load % would increase if i was towing?

Ive also noticed my L/H on my scangauge is much lower than my cars trip computer. Is this normal or do i need to wait to calibrate my fuel tank fillup?

Yeah thats normal untill you have calibrated the scan gauge after a few fill ups.

I don't use my sg for fuel logs... I cant be stuff with remembering the resets etc. I only use mine for the x-gauge and scanner when required.

With boost I can get up to 14.5-14.7psi at best. This only can be done if going up a hill from take off with foot 3/4 way (haven't gone flat to the floor yet). Most time I only see 12-13psi. Its all relative to what gear you in, load and speed. the psi varies with fuel delivery as the A/F ratio is being map.

                                Hi All,

Installed my new SG II today, thanks to Vee Zee for the post and idea. I bought the mount from the USA, it is great, very neat and easy to install.

The pillar trim was easy to remove and heaps of spare cable.

Still working on the display I want in the manual Prado.
