Water storage options

Hey guys, looking at water storage options in the 150 Prado, seems a bit limited for space and options. I can't justify the cost of a KAON tank just yet so seeing if there are other ways to tuck away hidden water storage? I know there were water bladders made for the 120 series that fit into the Rear quarter panels. Has anyone got something similar to that? Not too keen on the idea of using the rear seat footwell as have kids in the back

How old are the kids? As in do their feet hit the floor? If not then the rear seat footwell is perfect. A 20 l jerry on its side in each one, a piece of carpet, rubber mat etc over it. Ratchet ties to various seat mounts to tie them down. Depending on kid's ages it may give them a footrest..

Yeah they’re 12 and 15 with long legs so feet well and truely on the ground, was hoping someone had made up something to go in the rear quarters

There is actually buggerall space in those rear quarters. That leaves you with a few jerries strapped down behind the middle seat. Far too heavy to put on roof rack. keep centre of gravity low.

I took out the 3rd row seats and put in a floor panel where the old floor (that covered the folded seats) was. Plenty of space under the new false floor.

I tried a bladder in a 120 and found it rubbed on to many sharp points so took it back.

Have a loneranger one in the rear but have never used it, if the 150's like the 120 you won't have much weight allowance to carry water in it anyway.

I have a drawer system in place of the 3rd row of seats. This gives me room for a 50L Poly tank that sits perfectly behind the 2nd row seats.
I have the Boab one, but its the same as this Iron Man unit:

I have mine strapped down and padded with EVA foam sheets to stop it from rubbing on the drawer and seat backs.

Like RPP I have a poly tank between the second row seats and cargo barrier/drawer system. Works a treat and you only lose about two clicks of the second row seat adjustment, it lives there full time now so always handy and very robust. Be aware that my cargo barrier is only half height. Mine is a front runner https://www.toughtoys.com.au/product...s-41l-wtan009/ but Iron Man do similar.

Dear Boneyone,
could you advise how you have 'tied this down' or fixed it in place. I'm looking at this product for our new Prado GXL after finding out that a friend's Kaon underbody aluminium tank is springing leaks along the welds.

Mine is a very snug fit once the seats are pushed as far back as they can go, have done many trips and no problems whether full or empty. The only thing to be careful of is the fitting at the bottom of the tank for the hose would be easy to snag when putting the tank in or taking it out.
