I use Velcro. Local perspex place may be cheaper. Definitely needed if you tow on dirt. If you can't see over what you tow, corflute or bubble wrap will do the job for zero cost.
Have the Plasweld on a Prado 120, we tow a camper with stone stomper you still get the occasional stones between the glass
and the screen saver probably from cars travelling other way. Stone will scratch the window if you don't remove them. In my
setup I used a fitting kit for the old Aunger louvers which are still available, advantage of these is they stick to the glass
forever and protector can be easily removed by simply turning the clip to release.
Do you need a protector, definitely if you tow on gravel roads, seem many broken back windows from stones bouncing of
capers and caravan back into the rear window.
