Make sure you show us what it looks like fitted and feedback on how easy it was to fit. Its incredible that there are STILL no aftermarket recovery points!

Re: Aftermarket front recovery points for 150 Series
I just picked up a set of All Terrain 4x4 front recovery points. The guy at the shop said they have fitted them to a 150 with ARB bar and they didn't have an issue. From the instructions it looks like you are required to open two existing holes up to 13mm but then they bolt right on. 8t rated...
Cost $160 including all hardware.

Re: Aftermarket front recovery points for 150 Series
Howdy all,
Unfortunately the recovery points I spoke of will not fit either the ARB or the TJM bar without modification to the bar. Both bars have a fold which continues under the front chassis rail which prevents the recovery point plate being bolted on. The only way to fit them is to grind away this fold, but then of course you have modified the bullbar with possible consequences. I was confident they would fit on my car with the TJM T13 bar, but the prototype bar that was measued up to make the recovery points from was just that - a prototype. The production bar ended up with the extensions a la ARB, so its a no go.
Cheers

Re: Front recovery points almost available
Hey RamboOriginally posted by ramboHowdy,
Spoke to a mate of mine today who owns All Terrain 4WD in Moorabbin/Vic. He has completed the manufacture of the front 150 recovery points. They are getting electro plated as we speak, and will be on my car next week, so I will upload pics of them as soon as I can.
Cheers,

Do you know if they will fit the 150 with an ARB bar?

Re: Aftermarket front recovery points for 150 Series
any update on recovery points?
my 4x4 guy told me just to use an equaliser strap on the standard ones and will be fine. however if there are aftermarket ones available I would prefer to be safe.

Re: Aftermarket front recovery points for 150 Series
Bought a set of OI recovery points last week from Manell Motors but when I did a test fit, the holes didn't line up with the ones on the chassis.
I rang Mannell Saturday morning and was told that the points are 120 ones and that I had to elongate one of the holes on each point so that they line up.
I'm none too happy about this so be aware guys if ordering a set from Manell.
That aside, has anyone fitted them yet and how hard was it to remove the radiator out of the way?
Dobbo.

Because Toyota thinks the 150 does not need recovery ?!?! But obviously you would need recovery point to recover 'other' vehicles from the opposition.Originally posted by XWGTI mean its not like fitting a supercharger or or nitrous...............its a recovery point ..........why have they made it so difficult?????

Is it just me or does it seem extraordianrily difficult to fit an item that should be one of the first things included on a vehcile designed for off road activities?

OK
Spoke to the local ARB guys on pick-up of my car today and they are waiting for Outback Ideas to come up with an answer. I did mention that as they (ARB) had cars fitted with bars they should provide a car for measuring. Let's see what happens.

Re: Aftermarket front recovery points for 150 Series
Thx Richo, be interested too see what you think/see. The chassis bolts pose a problem because then erinn front to back, not the side to side which would allow easy bolting of recovery hooksOriginally posted by RichosonHi Folks
My car is going into ARB for suspension on Friday and I believe that they will take the splash plates off to fit it, at that time I will look at what has to be done to fit recovery points. I believe that it will require trimming the splash plates with a gap and then longer bolts into the chassis points that the splash points bolt into. Then a custom plate designed.

Re: Aftermarket front recovery points for 150 Series
Any update on getting a vehicle to take measurements from? I had a look under the front of the arb bar and it doesn't look promising for finding a suitable anchor point to attach a recovery point to. Hopefully someone else can find something more suitable
