  • prokiwi, I said we never had an issue with people having noisy injectors. Meaning IF some vehicles have noisy injectors it would not cause an diabolical issue with an engine. Toyota seem to agree with this by the way.

About your claim. that's not true at all. If someone has a failure due to our product we stand behind it a fix it. You say you had "injector issue". What issue? And what issue did you tell me and I did bugger all??? I never will have a customer say I did bugger all about anything we do. If I told you there is nothing we can do about the noise it was because Toyota had to replace the injectors like they have been doing. It's hardly a Chip It fault.

Also, if a person shows a receipt that we received a chip and we cannot find the delivery we cop it on the chin. I don't think people here would expect a company to send out a warranty part or item if the customer's part never turns up. Find me one company that does. How do we know where it went or if someone actually did send something back to us?

We live in Australia where every express post article is trackable. You know that. All someone would need to say is: "here is the proof". With our record of customer support you would get the chip back within days.

We definitely are not perfect but our reputation is pretty good on this score.

So you sold the car at a loss because it had injector noise or injector failure? Come on

I expect Toyota would say that but if one was to read the "Diesel Rattle" threads in both the 120 and 150 series areas of this forum then one might draw a different conclusion......

It did it again today twice. Once at the lights and once after I started the car and drove off. I think the reason why it's happening every two to three weeks is because I am driving the vehicle during the hottest part of the day (I do shift work). It has never happened in the morning, afternoon at 5pm and at night. Only at lunch time. I am currently on tune 4 and if I have to drop it back to 3 there is no point having the chip. Now I wonder if its the chip getting hot or the fuel rail pressures are increasing during the day (we currently having 36-37deg days) and tipping it over the edge? Will have to call chipIT and get there thoughts.

        • do that. There are a couple of things we will ask you to check. It has nothing to do with rail pressure. This issue is coming up when the earth to the Module has too much impedance. Make sure the earth lead is attached closest to the negative of the battery terminal. If it happens on the Prado where we cannot get the impedance low enough we will swap it out free of charge to another model. A few on Prado Point have this other Module and are happy with the swap over service provided by us. But lets see where we are at with this one first. For support please call 08 9407 2000. G'DAy Robert, I used the earthing point next to the main battery, refer to the following youtube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZi81CWrZ9c it is 43sec into the clip. I didn't get a chance to call this afternoon as I was installing my UHF and I will be in Katherine tomorrow getting the vehicle serviced. Won't be back until the afternoon.

            • Winston that is a great 4 parts series. Only one issue ... the earth connection needs to be RIGHT AT THE NEG terminal of the battery. In fact the closest connection if indeed you had some other accessories earthing at that point as well.

Could you possibly edit it with a caption saying this?

Have to agree. Why anyone would buy Chipit after all the documented issues I'll never know. Buyer beware I guess.

                      • that's correct. And that's why we offer the industry's best warranty. You hear of some having issues of course. But you may never hear of the majority that are over the moon with the products.

Funny that you never hear of anyone that HAS actually done business with us saying to be wary of us. Just guys with keyboards and a lot of spare time. If a few, (very few), have issues we stand behind the product 100% and help at every turn ... just ask those that HAVE dealt with us.

Remember too, no matter what anyone else in the industry says, before Chip It hit the street, the industry was over priced ($1700 per fuel only Chip), never heard of EGT Controlled Performance Chips/Modules, was not offering long warranty.

Note also that we MAKE OUR OWN stuff. It is home grown. We are not riding on the back of some overseas company like every one else. We are not sending YOUR funds over to Europe or China.

Are we perfect? No. Never will be. We stuff up just like you do. But we will never lie to make a buck like many do and always will because they need to shoot down the opposition with BS to make their product look good. And we don't leave customers thinking what a crap company and a crap product they have.

                        • Hi Robert,

Last year I installed a different brand of chip, and the whole time I had problems. I kept getting an engine light on my dash and the vehicle would go into limp mode. I had to disconnect the battery and re connect it to reset the CPU. After numerous chips, one type plug and play another type was soldiered into my injector wiring at the CPU behind the glove box (all the same brand though), I would always get the same problem. The company I bought the chip from said I have a dodgy sensor. Since removing the chip, I have had the same problem occur when the vehicle is fully loaded and going up hill ie. high load.

I was just wondering on your take of the whole situation. Could this really be a bung sensor or a handball excuse from the company? Is it possible for the chips themselves to cause this issue, as it never happened before I installed any chip?

                          Cheers.

                            Hibbo,
This was exactly what mine was doing with the previously chip and that is the reason why I changed to the Chip it unit.
That being said , I am not one to leave things alone and had to put it up a couple of tunes and every now and then it faults.
Mainly happens when my wife drives the car, hard on the gas and then off all of a sudden.
Talked to Robert and got some helpful advice .

Worse thing is you can not buy the pressure relief valve seperate from the fuel rail and the whole thing is $1250-1500 to buy

when you guys install pressure relief valves into the rail, what pressure can the rail run before the engine light is tricked?
