    Barryswanson,
Can you tell me a little more about your detected FUEL LEAK and where it came from... I have had problems with my truck since the chip it chip was fitted at Mitchell Bros Brookvale. Below is alist of probs I have had when the chip is fitted in order.

    1- fuel leak
    2- fuel rail issues
    3- injector problem
    4- motor issues
5- abs traction control lights coming on car going into limp mode.
6- having to use shift lock to get car into gear etc etc.

If anyone can help, it would be appreciated.

taking the car in for the 20,000 service and removing my chip as I do with my services. have found black soot on the connector that is near where the blanking plate is installed. there must be a slight leak where I installed the blanking plate, does anyone else have this or Rob are you familiar with this issue? maybe I need to tighten it up some more but it was pretty tight when I installed it.

The other question.. how much difference is there between tune5 which is what come on the box and tune6

Is the Chip It chip any good. Here is my opinion after just returning form a 7600k trip to Cape York and back. Firstly on custom setting one, it hauls like nothing else. We dragged a 1800kg Kimberley Kamper all the way to the tip including the Overland Telegraph Track and on the return trip the Old Coach Road from Laura to may town. Not once was a winch called for despite some ridiculously steep rock climbs. The Chip did not miss a beat despite being dunked in numerous creeks. Fuel economy for the whole trip was just on 14km/l and trust me I don't FWI when I need to get through a difficult spot. Bottom line I have no affiliation with Chip It at all but I can't back them enough if you want real power and torque out of your Prado.

Please take this through pm's chipit...your only fueling the flame if you continue to defend yourself via this thread which is a opinion data base on products which you may or may not sell...come on everyone....a light hearted stab at each other is acceptable but attacks with personal hayred and slander is not....ive been here almost a year etc..but it has kinda gone down hill a little recently....kids and wives are reading these threads hopefully so lets play fairdinkum. ?

As Piggy correctly notes, I didn't remove the threads or posts. I don't have the rights to do that. It was the admins that found your attacks unwarranted obviously SWR

Im still getting up to speed what's going on with said parties, so don't have all the info yet.
If another admin has placed threads into holding it Would be for a valid reason. I'm yet to find out why.

However.. Personal attacks won't be tolerated. If you have an issue take it to pm.

    Oh really Robert??

    I have a "GREAT" idea!!!

Tell the Admins & Mods to put back "ALL" of your threads that was removed (NOT EDITED of course!) in order to cover your ass and we shall go through them 1 x 1.

I personally do not like you as i personally find you arrogant/ Misleading and lack the use of disclaimers when you advise people to do mod's on there vehicle and take no accountability for your advise?... Going off the past threads that was removed in order to protect your ass was classic examples of your arrogance and none existent warranty's when a claim was put forward?

PUT YOUR THREADS BACK and lets play legality!!

Ball is in your court Robbert R!

Of course, always try for warranty claim where you can, if that fails, keep Perth up dated with what's going on.

If it was an original toyota component (OEM) that caused the problem then it would be a warranty claim. It it was a aftermarket product that caused the problem then that company would have to cover costs (depending on their warranty..). If it cannot be determined what caused the fault then one would think Toyota would cover it (if under warranty).

Two things would have to be addressed, one - what caused the problem and two - how do we prove it.
Toyota will in most cases blame the other party's product (if still fitted to the vehicle) and the other party will blame Toyota. You would then need to take your vehicle (either on a tow truck) to another repairer for a second or third opinion. Meanwhile your vehicle is off the road for days, weeks, months. Most consumers will just pay it so they can get their vehicle back as they need to use it for work etc...
For any product you purchase check what is covered under warranty and if unsure ask the seller.

Refer to this website for more information on your rights:

The following is for your rights as a business:

Note: ACCC is a third umpire with no power to prosecute (lay charges etc). They just speak to all involved and if there is no resolution then the complaint needs to take the matter to the small claims court etc.

I dread to think what Toyota are going to charge me for parts and labor
What was the outcome of this mate???

WOW!!! ... Its a shame the "Chip It - outcomes of investigation" / "Engine Wont Start After ChipIt Install" / "My ChipIt Experience (How you're valued as a customer!)" / "I want to vote!!!" didn't back that statement up??
