Perhaps people should arm themselves with correct information before casting ideas about what really went on with Roo.

As Roo knows he is on a holiday, for his actions , comments, profanity and threats against no less than three other members in another thread.
To then have a sock puppet account appear to create more havoc for him and make a lot of noise didn't help his case a lot either.
I don't see anyone complaining that diesel fitter was also banned after abusing pretty well anyone who owned a Prado and also violating the sock puppet rules.

Now if any of you were put in the position of the threatened members, and with quite clear threats about how said member was going to visit and repay you for something you said with most likely violence in the near future.
And we as moderators did nothing, would that be fair to you?
What would that create for the future of the forum?
Rules are in place as is common sense which it seems was thrown out by the offending parties in this case..

Troublemakers no matter who they are, will not be tolerated. Holidays will be given so they have time away to consider their actions. Excessive and repeat offenders will find they may be removed for good. If they continue to violate and receive infringement points, they effectively ban themselves.

If Roo decides to come back when his holiday period expires, that is up to him. If he doesn't, that is his choice entirely.

Someone recently started a thread on double standards, and claiming we as admins/ mods overlook some people doing wrong. They themselves and others they know received holidays for making threats, it is a global thing on this forum. We don't pick and choose.
We cannot and will not overlook some to please others, its a level playing field. No exceptions.

That is a fair and level method of keeping this place running civil.

Apologies for taking the thread off topic, please continue the original discussion.

'Bad Tank of Fuel' - don't use BP Diesel, use Caltex and 2 bottles of Toyota Injector cleaner given to put through when I next fill up. The checked everything and cannot find an issue, I have a print out from the Toyota program, turbo's fine etc.

Fingers crossed it was a bad tank of fuel (or 2) and thnk god I bought the extended warranty for it...

          Hi Daniel
Was your BP bio diesel or ordinary diesel ?
Was at Stawell in Victoria the other weekend and brother inlaw went to BP and only had bio there. Did not fill up there and filled at Halls Gap.
Found the Shell there a few days later. He has a 200 series.
          Cheers

I am sure it was Ultimate Diesel but I will check the receipt, what ever they have done to it seems to knew be improving on fuel economy (computer anyway) but that is only from short trips, they have also put some more pressure in the tyres, I thought 40 - 42 PSI was hard, wow what they have in it is not good...

            Cheers Dan

I've just changed over to BP fuel for the last two tanks, normally I use caltex ultimate but I've heard and read BP warrants their fuel, so I thought I would give it ago... Not really happy with the results as I'm getting about 250km less on BP but habit said that the prado seems to run better - just my two cents...

Good to see it was a bit of bad fuel and NO damage, do you have a pre fuel filter installed?

Mitchm.......all of our fuel in Darwin comes through the Vopak terminal ( Dutch owned) at east arm..........so BP/Caltex etc etc etc is the same juice from the same tanks......no special additives or secrets..........Best off buying the cheapest around which is at Caltex Coolalinga (169.9) ATM..........sad but true.

BP imports its fuel here in Sydney out of Asia (so I am informed). They are now selling Ultimate diesel everywhere near where I live and it is definately different to the standard diesel both economy wise and foaming.

Depends on wholesale supplier.......at the time............Chevron own Caltex who are in direct completion with BP.
They all play the market buying each others fuel at one time or another...........Just because you bought your fuel at brand X servo does not mean they refined it at all it's very common practice.

If your BP fuel coz problem, claim it against them. They are the only oil retailer that has warranty.
It helps them also to look into those servo which might have "bad" fuel tanks.

I have been using BP since owning my Prado GXL (diesel) in Feb this year. Very happy with it.

How on earth can a different brand of fuel have that much of a difference in economy? I can get 1300km out of a tank of fuel.

And I would be given my Toyota Mechanic a good slappin if he said 900km is the norm. Thats nearly a loss of 40L, 400km, and $65 per tank. A problem that if not fixed would add up over time.

But it raises a good question regarding the grade of fuel these days and what brand you go to. Lets hope filling up will not be a 'lucky dip' as to whether we lose 400km out of a tank...

Well just to add my bit, I have just turned over 15,000k's and am getting 13LPH around town and last weekend did the triangle down to Pine Creek then up to Jabiru then back to Darwin and got 15.3LPH according to on board gauge. Yes I have a lot of gear on, roof rack etc but believe I should get better than this. By the way most of the way I was sitting on 120klm. When I recently towed the Camper Trailer to Adelaide River and back at 100klm I got 17LPH on that trip.

When you say 13LPH do you mean 13L/100km? If so that is a little high from my experience. But then again it could be close looking at the amount of accessories that you have.

Both me and my old man both have 150 D4D's with 20000km on each vehicle. We went down to Sydney from the Gold Coast in convoy and both vehicles got 8.5L/100km down the highway. Mine has ARB bar, tyres etc. His is standard...
