You shouldn't be getting white smoke. Its unburnt diesel. My 5th injector was totally carbonised and wasn't delivering correctly. You should mention it to your dealer.Originally posted by Phs View PostWe have started to get a little. Consistance with our Kakadu

Just another update.
Caravan fully loaded about 2T plus car loaded. Bunbury return about 480km with a bit of travelling while not towing (60-100km). Tank was full at start. Returned home and tank still not half way about 65% full. Fuel trip meter on vehicle says 14.2km/h and scangauge is showing 11.7km/h. Either way pretty awesome consumption considering sitting on 100km/h in 4th.

What I noticed with the cars trip is that it seems to over estimate at the beginning of a tank especially if a different driving style is used from the norm ie towing. My consumption started at nearly 16l/100km and within 2 hrs had dropped to 14l/100km. I have been having to adjust the scangauge to get it the most accurate it can be and its usually pretty accurate. I am tempted today to refill to full just to see exactly what consumption I did actually get. If its around the 12's I will be extremely happy.

Thanks for the replies.
I only recently got my Prado and have been averaging 12.5/100Km (V6 petrol) mostly. I did ask the dealer to fill the tank as part of the sale so its probably 95/91.
Im going t fill up again with 98 and calculate the difference.
When i'm on cruise control is seems to drop a little bit, not that I'm heavy footed as I am conscious of the fuel economy. What is annoying is when its on cruise control i can see the what the cruise control is on the 'eco bar'. It would be good to see thatLast edited by StewyD32; 06-06-2017, 09:38 PM.

Just got back from 8000km trip - Perth to Alice via Great Central road then back across Nullarbor with side trips etc - so around half gravel half blacktop. Most gravel was high speed (80 - 100 km/hr), though had some 4WDing in there also. On the bitumen cruised at 100, mostly with cruise control on.
Car is manual and stock except Cooper ST Maxx tires. Was towing a 1200 kg camper trailer (Trak Shak). Roof rack was lightly loaded (awning, maxtracks and FC Holden front right fender on the return trip - long story). On the way back across the Nullarbor was banging into a strong head wind the whole way.
Using app on the phone tracked each fill. Averaged 15 L/100 km. Was surprised how inconsistent the consumption was - varied from 13 L/100 km to 17 L/100 km.
