Far out that is pretty good economy. There has to be something wrong with mine. About to fill up after the ECU update and I don't think I will get under 11 and that is with about 400ks of highway driving.Originally posted by OzDriver View PostHad mine done just before a holiday trip last week. Only took 20 mins to do. Seems to be running slightly better overall and obtained 7.5 to 8.5 on long runs with 4 adult passengers, full tank and a boot full of luggage. Still on original DPF filter at 15k.

Likewise - mine's so far hovering around the 13.0/100 mark. Only had 500km's post the upgrade, but here's hoping that's simply because it's buzzing the begeezus out of the DPF for now. I usually get around 10.8 on the same kind of trips...Originally posted by Micko2005 View PostFar out that is pretty good economy. There has to be something wrong with mine. I noticed last Saturday (I took it in on Monday) that it blew some white smoke. Glad I had that bit of info so they could record it down as an issue for later (potentially). As I get it serviced from non-Toyota I don't get to see them very often. But they were quick.

Guys this might sound stupid, but those of you getting poor economy when doing highway/freeway travelling, is your box engaging 6th gear? My box needs to really be coaxed into 6th gear by really pulling back on the throttle when reaching the desired 100/110/120km speed, and drops back to 5th at the mere suggestion of an incline, which then results in another coax into 6th once on flat surface again. I usually get around 9-10l per 100 around Perth metro, and when on open road can get 7.5-8.0l per 100 when on the highway at 120. I don't drive it like I do my V8 Commodore, but I don't putt around either.
Re the ECU update, Ill get this done when my next service is due in 2000km.

At 100kmh, if you see about 2000rpm on the tach, then you are probably in 6th, but the torque converter is not locked. There was a gearbox firmware update earlier this year, but I didn't notice any change in the behaviour at highway cruise speeds.2016 Crystal Pearl Auto VX 2.8, TJM Bar, Safari Snorkel, Cooper AT/3, OME 50mm lift, Dual batts
