To answer the JohnLynn's question.
I have a mid 2018 update Prado VX with 120,000Km.
I received that letter from toyota late October 2024. For various reasons I could not do anything for a while after receiving the letter. I think I eventually booked in December for it to be done in late January.
No problems or questions after showing the toyota letter. The story I got was that the DPF and 5th injector were replaced and that it would take a few weeks to order the parts/kit. This was from one of the people at the dealer that I normally trust.
I have just had the parts replaced a fortnight ago. Was an all day service but included regular maintenance service at the same time.
5th Injector housing definitely is new, and pretty sure DPF/Cat converter has been changed as well. (A bit harder to see down there but no surface rust on DPF/Cat Flange and new bolts and gaskets I think. Pictures I took before change show normal surface rust on that flange.)
Have not gone far enough to get a regen yet but car was delivered with 0% soot showing on the scangauge. I was told that they had forced a regen as a test and was all good to go. Time will tell.
Cheers
