The 2400rpm hesitation was fixed using:
TNS63/11 Hesitation on downshift under acceleration.
It was issued on 26/08/11
This is the thread http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...round-2400-RPM a word of warning on this fix it WILL make your truck use more fuel around town, typically up to 14 - 15ltr/100km (worse case)

I believe that there was an update in March 2012 & 1 after that. See my previous posts. The march 12 update altered the gear changes and fixed the drone. I'm getting 10.3 litres/100km around Adelaide, City driving only. Not sure if your build has the latest updates. See my previous posts for more info.2012 Crystal Pearl Prado Altitude 150 Diesel Auto. I have the new facelift model Prado (GXL, Auto, diesel, Jan 2014 compliance) and experienced the 1500 RPM drone up until the 1,000km mark. After the 1,000km its completely gone and doesn't exhibit the drone any more!2014 Toyota Prado 150 D4D Auto (facelift); ARB Deluxe Bullbar; OME 2" Lift; Rhino Pioneer Platform Rack; Redarc BCDC 1225 with Optima Yellow Top; BF Goodrich Mud Terrain KM2; Lightforce Genuine Custom 70w HID; GME UHF; Safari Snorkel; Rigid Industry SR-Q2 side lights (yet to be installed); Domin8or winch (yet to be installed)

I have a Feb 14 build GXL Manual, and for the first 1000km, I drove it on the freeway from Bris to Sydney, didn't really notice any drone. Since doing another 500km around Sydney in slow traffic, frequent gear changes etc I think I have the dreaded drone at 1500RPM.
At first I thought I was just driving it in too low a gear when at 1500rpm (despite the engine feeling willing and not struggling), so have been dropping back a gear and increasing rpm to above 1700-1800 it goes away. Problem is that in traffic, 2nd gear and 1500rpm is exactly where you need to so often be driving it, and it's driving me nuts.
I will be booking into the dealer ASAP, because it has really made my owning a brand new car a disappointment.
