    It wouldnt suprise me if that was their generic pre-prepared response that they use whenever they get caught out!

      The mechanic should know that he's replacing the Filter and if he doesn't have the parts should ask the question. One service I had I pointed out the filtre wasn't replaced - they told me they had cleaned it - asked them to grab the page from the log book and pointed out it said Replace / not Clean.

      Now that my fixed price has run out I take it elsewhere and they were brilliant, it's just changed owners and is getting serviced today - but experience so far is that nothing is too much trouble - they're throwing a Uni Filter in it for me this time. Fitted me in this morning with about 10mins notice - I was going to do it next week but now have to travel for work and they said bring it in.

          Just had 40K service at Charlestown Toyota. Very happy with service. We have two Toyota's and both were not purchased from this dealer, and we are always treated in a professional manner with all works completed. Just thought I'd share our pleasant experiences. Cheers

            It wasn't cht it was windsor Toyota .. Anyway all sorted now & I'll give them benefit of doubt but I think it's wise to put a mark on your filters & check afterwards..
            I take mine to Windsor Toyota ( because of the 6 year no-extra-charge warranty they have given me ) and no problems so far. Will mark things in the future just to be sure.

                It looks like the computer didnt allocate any parts going by your invoice, makes you think if they even allocated a man to the job at all.

                  When I head that way, I make sure I have something else to do out that way, rather than just the 'fun' drive to Windsor from Sylvania. About an hour in the early morning.

                      Unbelieveable, but not really these days and always with the generic response that it was someone else's issue or a computer fault. The amount these dealers charge for servicing and the level of service received is as has been previously stated criminal. Even allowing for the fixed price service cost, this has been determined as a business plan by Toyota and should not result in substandard service or shortcutting. Will ensure that I mark the air and oil filter and tyre to make sure they do what they say they will do.

                        Hey Sunwal,

                        Charlestown Toyota have ripped me off before so dont trust em, I think most Toyo service is a "genuine" rip off and i'm sure they have a chuckle over it during smoko.

                        Such a shame that such a good product is tainted by awful after sales service in our country...

                          Theft no, Fraud maybe.

                          You will need to prove intent. Did the service person know it had not been done? If the mechanic was just a lazy ass then there is no intent and no criminal offence. You would need to prove the service person who processed the transaction knew that the mechanic had not done the work.

                            Guys, how dirty does the cabin filter get when you drive round the suburbs? I just checked mine that was supposed to have been changed about 15k ago and it is really quite black already. Me thinks I got ripped off at the 30k service but how can I prove it?
