The stories above seem all too common, I don't think ive had a satisfactory transaction through ARB yet. However both the stores close to me are quick to tell you that they have in excess of 100k in bar work on back order form the factory.

It kind of feels to me that they have such market control and share that they can get away with operation the way that they seem to? Or maybe they are growing so fast they just can't get good people?
Btw how do you know if it's a franchise or ARB owned?
    Regards, Heath.

Had my old mans new 200 series there last week as he had over 25k spent on it putting everything on it.

He is currently away for a month and told me to drive it so naturally I am lol and found the rest diff leaking oil, the trailer plug and Anderson plug doesn't work at all ! Like its not connected to anything and they have wired up the whole system wrong with the 3 batteries installed!!!

This was all done at ARB in Dandenong and so I took the car to Kilsyth to have it checked as I live closer to that one and the guys down there were great!

They did advise me though to take it back to Dandy due to the fact they did the work even though I could take it to any ARB dealer so that is what I am doing! Is going in there tomorrow so fingers crossed it gets done properly for the amount of money spent ( not that how much you spend should matter ).

Oh yeah the long range fuel tank used to leak diesel everywhere when it was installed as it wasn't fitted off properly!

It amazes me how they do these jobs and don't do it properly or check their work once completed as I'm sure it cost them more money in the long run having customers come back for warranty work, not to mention people won't use them if there service is shit

It may well be that some of these installers are not good enough to operate their own business, so they work for someone else's business where work quality is not checked, and all they are really interested in is the 5pm knock off time to go home.

It's shit like this that makes me want to buy the products and fit everything my self. I'm not a mechanic (i'd be a broke one if I was), but at least after a bit of on-line research I know it's done right!

Hi guys, it's disappointing to hear of these issues. Obviously any poor quality fitting work by ARB stores or authorised stockists is unacceptable. If anyone ever has any issues with fitting, your first port of call should be the Branch Manager who can help rectify the issue and take steps to ensure the same thing doesn't happen in the future. If you're unhappy with their response then feel free to email Head Office ([email protected]) and we'll follow it up for you.

                    Cheers, Sam.

I guess not just with 4x4 accessories., but with everythig in life we pay good money for, we just want it done right the first time.

Same here very poor quality install and organisation of my TJM gear. Despite ringing numerous times before the install day (its an hours drive) they still got it wrong and didn't have parts. my bar was/is badly painted i'm on my second set of bumper infills as well. I got home a realised they had put on two pencil beam spotties no spread so I arranged to go back the following week then when I got there they said they didn't have a spread (again I rang prior) they found one after half an hours looking then said can I leave the car with them for the day but prior said bring it down we will swap it while I wait....I didn't leave I gave them 30 mins to do the job as I run my own business and they can't afford for me to bill them for my lost income. As it was it was a 4 hour turnaround out of my business to get my spottie sorted and two months later I was back again because the paint was falling off my infills.

This is the dramas and crap we deal with for approx $5000 worth of extras...not $50 you would think a bit of quality and customer service would be tied into a $5000 purchase.

IS THERE ANYWHERE IN PERTH YOU CAN RELY ON FOR 4X4 EXTRA'S ?

Jeez Kakadaz, I have my Prado in at TJM O'Connor at the moment, I really hope they fit everything properly! I am a little further away from the store-1500kms!! I fly down Thursday and drive back Friday. They will have had the car for 9 days so hopefully all is done properly as I won't have time to sit around and watch them fix the problems OR drive back down and get them to fix it. I have spoken to the owner today and he has said the bullbar is going on today, I've asked for photos of the gaps on either side as I have seen some fairly bad fit ups by other shops.
                          Cheers

Totally unacceptable, infills, incorrect gaps, driving light fitment, what a load of crap some of the stories these mobs tell us. While its great Sam offered his personal response it still shouldn't happen. Even a certain mob (not ARB) have not bothered to return my call in regards to fitment of OME so they can jam it and wont be getting my money.

How hard is it to return a call in regards to an enquiry. Sam I have had issues from two of your stores. Yes the problems were rectified BUT WHY, WHY do I have to be out of pocket $$ by taking time off work to redeliver my vehicle to get some thing fixed a second time, did ARB not think I would be back for a new Cv boot after they tore the first one, and I they tried gluing it back together, and I had black grease and shit sprayed over everything including my pads which I had to replace at $70, check, inspect, they must now that this could happen by forcing the shaft down to get the new springs/struts in ??

Jacking my prado up using the bash plate as the jacking point, are they frigging serious, any body with some form of mechanical knowledge would now that a bit of thin shitty metal plate is not going to hold 2T+, did they not think that maybe to wash their hands before jumping into my prado and putting grease and shit over my leather ?? Did they not even see it after and think shit I better get that off ??

I have no idea what experience or skills they need for these jobs but just some basic common sense would be a start. I ask for a snorkel to be put on as we were doing a trip which required a few water crossings so didnt want to suck in water to my engine.
Did the person fitting it not think hey the main purpose of a snorkel is to stop water getting into the induction system ?? we better make sure to seal it up nice and tight with some form of silastic ?? or if unable to come to a conclusion them selves then maybe ask the manager ?? I mean come on, some people spend big $$$ on ARB/TJM/ and other brands and expect if they are putting it to the so called specialist they would expect it done to perfection, wouldn't they ??

Ill give you another example I just heard today from my neighbours old man and his brand new 60th anniversary series 200 series land cruiser, had to go back to the main office at Moorebank to be rectified which also envolved a new front bumper bar as they stuffed the original installing his bullbar !!!! How many bullbars would have ARB fitted to the new 200 series ?? A few I would reckon. And there were some other issues. This is a 100 thou plus cruiser he has just spent his $$ on.......

Im certainly not knocking the ARB products. I have always used OME for years with no problems bullbars, and other bits and pieces but they certainly need to lift their game in respect for customer vehicles, fitment, and loose the dont give a shit attitude we are the market leaders so we know we can get away with not been 100%........

Sam you obviously are in a position by the sounds of it where you can kick some arse. Maybe some one in management need to do like Harvey Norman did and start doing some checks on the staff and their level of service and what knowledge some of the fitters have.

Im certainly not saying all the people who work in the fitment side of it are useless, but there is obviously some among them that are giving you guys a not so good reputation lately.Cheers Steve
