If you take any leanings from what has been documented in these forums, remember this:
1. Avoid modifying your vehicle as it will more than likely cause you some releted problem down the track.
2. If you really need to modify your vehicle, research the product thoroughly and install it yourself
2a. If you can't install it yourself, find someone that you trust and is a qualified mechanic or is willing to allow you to watch. Always remember that the franchise/company/individual that sells you the product is more than likely incapable of installing it properly or with manufacturers instruction and your liking.
3. No matter how simple the task, challenge the installer on how they will install the product, how they will assure quality control. One of my mates just had shocks and springs installed by a well known and respected forum member on the patrol forum. after the car was completed 5 days later, 20km down the road his rear shock come loose from its top mount. Clearly there is a lack of quality control from this mechanic who was on his own, talking to people who walked in off the street and answering the phone that was located in the office (no cordless phone). Anyway, I'm sure you get my point.
