This function is listed in the back of the manual, but it says it's an option that must be enabled by the dealer (i.e. not with a button combination). I assume they enable it through the ECU with the thing-a-majig they connect to the OBD port, so I don't see why anyone who has one of the thing-a-majigs couldn't do it.Originally posted by Talktheroo View Post
It definitely works on a GXL. When I had my 1000km service done I took the book in and showed them the page (can't remember which one but it is near the back somewhere in the table of options that can be enabled) and they did it during the service for free. I also got the "auto-recirc" turned off during the second service (this is another dealer only option) as it kept giving me the shits when it couldn't decide if it wanted to be on or off!Comment

It was Prosser Toyota who advised it wasn't available for the 150 GX - not sure if he meant all or if it was year depependant.
Like I previously said, I saw it both in the book and on here so thought I would ask - when he said it wasn't an option on the GX I thought I would ask on here.

Mine was done via the dealer connection a lap top directly to the port located under the dash near the leading edge of the dash above the brake pedal. My Prado is a December 09 GX Model.
Newtown Toyota were able to activate the auto window feature without any trouble.
Sounds like Prosser have it not quite right.
Persist with getting the changes done.
