  • OK, thanks guys - I will just do like I do now and take the card out. I will just have to remember to turn the power off first as getting into the car to remove it will start the recording up.

Yes, taken with a mounted iPhone. I've seen some GoPro footage that looks much better.

      • Tested my Vico out on a run to the shops today. It started recording as soon as the car started and kept recording while the car was parked. So far I'm happy with the image quality considering what it is and the price point. I will see how it is in low light driving to work for a 0500 start.

Hey, Steve's build pic are still up. Click Here

I went down the pillar into the footwell. Just follow the existing cable path. You can get your hand up toward the pillar when feeding the cable through. I found it easier to double the cable over and push the loop down, then pull the adaptor through from the top, leaving the camera plug up top. I first tried to feed the cig adaptor down and it got trapped for a few heart stopping minutes, but it came loose with some judicious jiggling.

Come out near the accelerator pedal and feed it along behind the trim in the footwell to the centre console.

Then cable tied the excess tucked up behind the drivers footwell panel

Just looping around the front into the power socket because eventually I'll follow Stevejau's example, and go through the bulkhead into the engine bay and connect to my Aux battery. I couldn't be bothered fiddling with the trim at this point.

Yes thanks Steve. All installed, recording away, bad singing and all! Just need to get out and get some decent footage, and make the power connection permanent.

                  • I just got an email from Dashcams to say mine has been sent. It normally takes three days for post to get to Wait Awhile so I'm hoping to get mine by Thursday. That works out well as we are doing a particularly tough track on Sunday and it will be nice to capture that.

The little gadget sprang to life no problem. I can't say the same for me!

It performs quite well in low light. Very impressive infact for such a cheap camera. I need to play with the settings some more but happy so far.

Another one on the rear window would be good and it could double as a reversing camera by using the HDMI output.

                            • I've got the earlier version without wifi but still a great cam I've got it hooked to permanent power through the interior light wiring as some one on here did for a GPS unit a while ago easy to do and no wires hanging.best invention defiantly makes people think twice if you leAve your car at a workshop or panel beaters big brothers watching

Any chance of some pointers on how you did that?
