Any idea where that engine is coming from? Not another start to the D4D life cycle.
Just read a FB post from Berrima Diesel with many customer still complaining about the injector issues. Is that a thing of the past or do the current models also have the same issue? I did read here on PP that it had been fixed or people hope that it had been fixed. Are there any indicators to say it has been fixed or is still an ongoing issue?
I see many happy owners and some people with bad stories. What is the differentiator between those?
CheersD4D. How long will it last?

Injectors are, and always have been, a wear and tear component, or a consumable. They always have needed to be replaced when they are worn. The problem with the modern Toyota diesels is when they are worn they over fuel to the point they can damage engine internals. Many people also feel the life span of these injectors is too short, and they should last longer than they do. The problem is compounded by dealers not doing the appropriate checks when servicing and not making the customer aware of the "issue".
There was an earlier issue where the injector seats (or "sheets") allowed combustion gases into the oil ways, this caused carbon build up in the oil system, eventually blocking the oil pick up and causing oil starvation. This issue has been solved with new revised injector seats, although it was not done through any recall or customer satisfaction program, but was done at the customers expense when either the valve clearances were checked, the carbon deposits were noted, or the engine suffered oil starvation. Most 150's will have the new style seats, you would have to be very unlucky to get one of the early ones with the old seats.[LEFT]Silver 150 Facelift

The 120 major update was in 2006 so about 3 years before replacement. If the timing above is correct then the facelift will be the last major change in a 6 year life cycle. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic
