    • I hope the next Prado doesn't turn into a pure city slicker's car with no 4wd just like Nissan did with the pathfinder. Any more modern looking or additional electronics i know i'll be going back to a 70 series.

      • So... is anything changing with the 2015 model? It's late November - surely if there were any changes they would be known by now. We're looking at getting a new 150 series - not sure if we should wait or not.

        • I doubt it will be out in 2015, more like 2016 - the Hilux was delayed a year because Toyota were caught off guard by the Ranger and had to start again to build something competitive (it was due in showrooms in Sep LOL), I wouldn't be surprised if the the Prado is party held up due to parts sharing and the fact that some of the utes/wagon based competition is starting to encroach on the Prado market with better value and performance.

          • First thing they could change is the tow capacity, its now not competitive at all with all of their opposition.

They all want us to buy 200's to tow with, but sorry at somewhere like $100K for us now living on our own funds for retirement that's not possible.

Love my Prado, and where its taken us, but 2015 will see us in something else, what yet I don't know......however one more trip (Kimberley) to do before that.
150 Silver Diesel GXL Auto with ECB Bullbar, Toyota Factory towbar, Black Widow Drawer system with Fridge slide and cargo barrier, GME UHF 3340 Radio, Waeco 50 Litre Fridge, Rhino Racks and Rhino Basket, ARB Awning, IPF XS Spotties, ABR Sidewinder Dual Battery system,Airtec Snorkel, Bilstien Shockies, King Springs, Poly Airbags and BFG A/T''s. Now towing a semi offroad Lotus Freelander 18.6 Van, with all the bells and whistles.

            • Are there likely to be any changed at all to the 2015 model? Or exactly the same as the 2014 one?

              • As models are usually released in August, Id suggest you wont see any changes till late 2015 now.

                • The need to get their act together and release the v8 Prado in Australia (its a Lexus overseas).

Edit: it was in the 120 series. No idea about the rubbish current model.

                  • I reckon the new hilux will be a good alternative to consider if they don't get their act together with power, look forward to watching the progress.

                    • I suspect I will looking to rebuild an 80 or 100 series stripped back to a frame. If the gods allow It will be a two year project that will see the 120 sold at the end to some young fella that gets very lucky, and me with a spec vehicle that will be better than the original. In the meantime, the 120 will have to last a few more years.

                          • I read in a paper recently (forgot which one) that they are introducing the 4runner in Australia next year, positioned below the Prado in the model line up.
