I love the look of the Amaroks, think they are tough as, and would love to see a 4 Door Wagon version (prado style) but apparently some early issues with gearboxes and build quality.
The other gripe was from the guy that just did my suspension lift, that they are quite hard to do as the components mount the drive shaft so it all has to be removed. See the pic! Crazy Germans making jobs hard!

Rangers are not fairing to well in mining from the sounds of it. I saw a notification the other day for a blown Ford Ranger diff at 110km/h. Driver must have shat bricks......
Also heard of some parts not being readily available (compared to Toyota's) and a number of Rangers being parked up for a week or two in waiting.....

Next Year's Prado drop down tail gate?
Went with the daughter today as she's interested in the Prado GXL TD while the $62k sale is on. Wants to update from the old 100 series 4.7l petrol (fuel consumption). The one thing she does not like is the barn door, preference is for "normal" drop down tail gate. Anyway, she was sold on the Prado, liked the way it drove (much lighter to steer etc than my 200). Then the sales kid said the next model is going to have the drop down tail gate. Anyone heard this as well? She'll wait another year for this feature, even if it means the smaller fuel tank.Prado 150 2014 GXL 3.0 TTD - gone after it failed me bad. Now MY16 GXL TTD 200

So with that model you lose the extra tank and gain nothing.......pointless really as who cares about the glass opening?
Regarding engine change, spoke to a dealer a while back and he stated that engines go through a 10 year cycle with Toyota so given the 3ltr D4D came about in 2006 the new engine is due 2016. Also rumoured to be a Hino design (not sure whether to believe that though) and while they are at it they should shove in a 6 speed auto as well!!!!2010 150 Glacier White GXL D4D Auto
