[QUOTE=WHOAMI;n759337]Took the car to Toyota dealership again and they've come up with close to $4000 worth of repairs. I wonder why they didn't pick up on any codes or faults the first time I took the car over.
Did you ask them to, (did they) Plug it into techstream? Theres some info around online about people pulling the actuator apart and cleaning/ greasing it and its fine afterwards. Common issue if they arent used every few months.

Also, when I took the car to another mechanic(not Toyota), he actually swapped the Actuator with another one from a perfectly functioning car, and the light kept flashing apparently.

Another thing I noticed was that, when the CDL switch actually works, I can hear a clicking noise when I push the switch to activate and deactivate CDL. However, when the CDL light starts flashing, and I try pushing the switch, there's no such noise. I'm thinking, maybe its the switch that's playing up. Any idea on how to remove it and clean it, or replace it with a new one?

Hey all, I have the exact same issue with my 2010 150 GX. At first the CDL light was flashing and 4L wasn't working. I did the following things:
1: I pulled the transfer case actuator apart and did a clean and put it together to find that the cruise control now was no longer working. Did some reading and found that was beacuse I didn't time the gears right.
2: I pulled the actuator out again and did some reading on how to retime them and my cruise control and 4L worked again (phew) but my CDL was still on....
3: Took it to Toyota to run their scan tool and take a look and they said I need a brand new transfer case actuator and quoted ~$5k.
4: I found that Toyota also untimed the gears so my cruise control didn't work so I had to redo that myself afterwards the bastards. Decided I'm staying AWAY from the "stealerships" for as long as I can. After moving around with the actuator zig zagging at different speeds and putting back together I found that the CDL light was now NOT flashing BUT was still on and the button didn't change anything..
I'd put photos in but it's not letting me upload them or do links??

Sorry for the late reply. Been a bit busy with moving and other stuff. The actuator on my prado was faulty and had to be replaced. I was quoted around the $4k+ mark. luckily when I purchased teh car, I also got myself the warranty that they were offering. The whole cost of repair was covered. I have sold that car and bought myself a 2022 Prado now.
