  • Re: When is the new generation Prado due?

I think the same goes for the current batch of 120. Fitting a TJM bar also requires the front bumper to be cut, except for the ARB bars. I think most new vehicles are heading in that direction. I believe in the not too distance future, the full body will be a one piece moulding much like a replica kit car (notably Shelby cobra replicas).

I came across this SUV they sell on the Toyota JP website - they sell it alongside the Prado and when I saw it I thought that I wouldn't be surprised if the next Prado looked something like this:

Kind of looks like a cross between a Yaris and a Kluger

Yeah.. Not sold on it to be perfectly honest. Early days yet and the ultimate proof will be in the "flesh" as it were. However, it looks too much like the Kluger. Looks too much like the 200 series. For me, I really don't like the direction the styling is going for the newer series Totota's. I really wish they'd put that D4D or V6 in the 70 Series Wagons (original Prado). Looks like I did the right thing picking up a 120 when I did. Less fuel capacity!! BAH!!

I see the new Pajero (*wash out mouth*) has had an update with "all new Pajero" cosmetic updates, new interior and now 147kw out of the 3.2 diesel.

I wonder if Toyota can squeeze one more cosmetic update out of the current 120 platform and maybe a little more power out of the D4D, which now looks a bit ordinary(129kw) against the competition.

Pictures larger than 800 pixels will be rejected. it says why in the rules..

The 2009 Prado has numerous pictures and threads on it here already, best to put it into one of them to avoid a double up thread that will probably get locked as its against the preferred rules and ettiquitte of this forum.

Any normal photo programs can resize an image, some like photobucket/flickr etc do it all for you automatically.

Even then, there is no reason it cannot be put into the existing threads on this topic. :!:

                      • Re: prado 2009

Pics can be a little bit of a pain to reduce in size without Photoshop or the like, but it is possible.

In Paint, which all PC's should have unless you run some form of DOS only. In which case I'd really like to know how you access this forum.

Load the JPEG into paint and hit the "Image" menu.
Then Choose the "Resize / Skew" option.

You will then have Horizontal and Vertical resizing options. You can only reduce the image size by a certain percentage though, rather than typing in exactly what you'd like the new dimensions to be.
So you can enter in 50% vertical size and 50% horizontal size to make the image half as big. It'll be a process of trial and error to get the width under 800 pixels.

Make a change and if it's too much or not enough simply choose the "Edit -----> Undo" options.

To find out how big the image is in terms of pixel sizing go once again to the "Image" menu and choose the "attributes" option. In the "Units" section, make sure you have the "pixels" radio button selected and you'll be able to see how many pixels wide and how many high your picture is.

Not a perfect solution but it'll get you by.

Or you're welcome to email me the Pic and I'll post it up in the 09 Prado thread for you. My email should come up in the members address book.

Here are some spy shots of the Lexus GX 470. As most of you know it's the same body as the Prado.

I know most of the body is covered, but it's something.

A quick and easy way to resize images is to use Outlook Express. It gives you the option to resize before sending... just save them instead of sending.

Even better is a program called "Image resizer Power toy" available from the Microsoft website. This is a handy little Windows add on, you just right click on the image and select resize, it makes a copy in the size you select (including custom sizes)

i think i saw those shots on another site that is normally pretty accurate. the lights look like they're off a 200 series but are way too big for the car in the shot... so could be decoy's..
