If this is true it would be more like 2 or 3 vehicles plus a support ute to back them up and carry the spares.
One of my mates is hevily involved in testing of said vehicles in the outback (various makes and models).

I was in a Sydney Toyota yard yesterday looking over a new Prado and overheard a saleswoman talking to other customers who were checking out a Kluger. She said to the customers that the new Prado was due out later this year and that if they liked the Kluger, then perhaps they should wait for the new Prado as it will be a bigger and better version of the Kluger. Her words, not mine! Seems to confirm the speculation.

I was told by a dealer probably Octoberish this year it will arrive. I've ordered another 120 though. When you're on a good thing...

Looks like the new prado has been spotted in testing

They've tried to disguise it as an old camry, but I think we can all see past that. Interesting solution the engineers have developed between off-road performance and city comfort.

Could be a retro body style - like they did with the 70 series...

I found this pic today. I thought it was a different shot but looks like someone has photoshopped the 2 front grills. All the reflections on the tyres, rims and bodywork are the same as the other pic. At little bit of photoshopping can make that front a whole lot better!

                  Compared to the other shot...

Either way it looks like a cross between a Rav4, 200 series, Pajero and Pathfinder.

Happy with the look of my 120!

Yes, could be taken as a bit cheeky....

Has anyone noticed the rear door seems "longer"? and the rear window (side) seems shorter than on the current 120?

Possibly like the RAV which has a longer rear door and more legroom in the rear due to a sliding rear seat setup. (Which is pretty good I will also add having just bought one, its got more legroom than the 120!!)

Well you can't diss it completely. For instance, with the current 120, just adding a bullbar changes the look of it quite significantly in my opinion. When I see a 120 with no bullbar they really strike me as a much "softer" looking vehicle. The bullbar seems to add just that bit of extra length to the nose and square it off nicely. Lets see a new gen Prado with a few options on it and then we'll see. Do you think they'll come out with a revised Sovereign bullbar for the new model? It'll have to change somewhat won't it? Just by the look of the pic. Honestly, I think the Prado could do with a shade more length and width. Not a heck of a lot but just enough to get a little more room into the footwells and backseat / cargo areas. For instance, when I fold the 2nd row seats up, I can't get enough seat adjustment in my drivers seat. If I put it where I want it, it's hitting the folded seat. So a little extra room will go a long way to fixing some of the niggles I think. And extra cargo space.... gotta vote for that. But yeah, at the same time you don't want a lumbering hippopotamus....

Saw a nice 200 series (which is similar to what the new Prado will be like in overall shape). Arb bar, small lift, Mudders. F*&ken tough looking

There a chance the new Prado may discard the rear solid axle in favour of IRS.

A new Prado, hmmm do yo think there will be anyone left in the country that wil be able to actually buy one? We are more likely to be like New Zealand was for many many years with nobody able to afford a new car so there were tons of ancient cars on their roads.
