I spoke to a family member who is a senior exec with Toyota Corp who informed me July is the final month of production of the 120. After that they have to close down the assembly line to prepare it for the new model Prado which comes out around Octoberish/Novemberish. He referred me onto the sales manager of my local dealership (amazing what different service one can receive when you drop a name - and who said Toyota have no customer service skills!) who looked at me in mild horror when I told him I wanted a white GXL TD auto with option pack 1. Its nice to have a Toyota dealership rep on their toes for a change. Basically, he said he would see what he could do and if it was going to be at all possible then I'd have to order very very soon as theyve become a rare species. So, if youre after a new 120, Id get in quick because theyre about to become a second hand market item only by the end of the year.

I've heard locally that arrangements are being made for magazine testing of the new model Prado in the central west of NSW during November.

2010 Prado is confirmed for November launch in Australia. Given the amount of changes in this brand new model I suspect there may be a global launch concurrently with the Australian release.

You can expect the new one to inherit some of the LC200 technology and then some but don't get too excited about TDI V6 as I suspect that is some way off. As with most new vehicle launches the engines will most likely be the same but more powerful and fuel efficient

Its good if they do go up 10k, its going to help resale.
I was told the 3l D4D will stay and power will be the same,It will be a 7 seater instead of 8, and it is going to be more Lexus based.
If they drop the 180l fuel tank that will be a huge mistake, I would not even consider one then.
200 Series D4D GXL is sounding very good.

Hi All,
November 16th 2009 is the offical release for sale date from Toyota for the Prado in OZ. We tried to order 3 new GX(optionpack1) ones this week have been told no more 120 series being built so we have to wait until then. Delalers only selling what's in stock and they believe they will run out of the current 120 stock before the new one hits our shores anywhere up to 6 weeks prior.
Price should only be 1k more for the new model GX . Also only rumor but the spare tyre maybe underneath with a 150l fuel tank to make room for tyre and 3rd row seats that fold into floor. Not sure on rear door config wether swing out or lift up like the 200 series/Kluger.

150 Lt is respectable if you can get the tyre underneath and a 3rd row fold under the floor, but I dont see that much room under there surely. :shock: I would keep the wheel on the door to sacrifice the seats only under the floor pan. That would be a great idea. The best 4WD for that at the moment is the 07 Pathfinder which I had, great the way the seats folded down and had the best leg room for 3rd row out of all models. Hope Toyota adopt this for there next model.

Hi Folks

Oldmac Toyota Cleveland Brisbane have a TD auto GXL white in stock, it is the one I ordered and then got sick of waiting for.
