  • Re: When is the new generation Prado due?

Your right Matt, this 07 owner will ring its life out of it for another 3 years, then get either a 200 or even a top notch 100, this does look gay. Hope those spoiler looking options are addons and not part of the body, cause I would get the GX if thats the GXL ewwww!!!! And the prado just lost the eightseater appeal, its now a seven by looking at the back seats down there is only two in the back. So we lose 30ltrs of fuel (heresay), gain a fold down seat and tyre under car, and lose a seating Number and gain extreme gayness :|
Steering wheel looks practical with adjustments, centre consol looks jammed packed with goodies, and the GPS area has gone from a 7inch to ta handheld screen size... :| that will hurt the eyes wont it

Look closely at the rear door and bumper shot on the white one and you can see the round shape in the back door were the tyre would be, just hope it doesn't have that crap on the front, anyhow good bar will fix that.

Lets just hope that Toyota improve their customer service to match the capabilities of their products, I doubt it though arrogence is hard to stop.

The pics look neat. I like the thought of the KSS. Does anyone have any idea of any specs? I'm interesting in towing capacity of the new beast.

If they don't preserve 8 seater and 180L tanks for Oz they will lose us, and we'd been waiting for the new model to be released in Australia before the Govt 50% investment allowance runs out. The 120 series lost front ground clearance from the 90 series - I hope moving the tyre under doesn't lose both ground clearance and fuel capacity! It's past time when the sat nav should be full GPS with downloadable topo maps and online real time traffic updates like the Tom Tom and other portable have.

This is shaping up to be a BIG disappointment - I really hope the preview shots aren't for the Oz model and the delay will be worth it.

As per the photo's it is definately seven seat, the black car has the tyre underneath, the white car you definately see that the tyre is on the swing door as per the current model which you could only assume has been replaced by a tank, what size??, the underneath of the car looks similar, so i would think ground clearance is much the same, i love that steering wheel with all of the controls on it. Like the 100 vs 200 debate some will love it, some will hate it but i am sure it will be a sales success, lets hope the prices don't jump like the 200 did.

Does anyone know what the series number is, 150? series.

Lets just wait for the final relese announcement before we get dissapointed, less off road capabilities, less fuel capacity, less ground clearance, way higher price and back to six month wait lists.

Here we go again, "Lets just hope that Toyota improve their customer service to match the capabilities of their products, I doubt it though arrogence is hard to stop."

Exactly. Toyota have many different models for many different markets. Just look at the NZ Prado with the rear door setup. If the fuel capacity does decrease to around 150L do you really think Toyota will care too much about what we think. They sell so many of these things to soccer mums that the true off road/touring market is a small percentage of sales in relation to overall sales.

Global launch now programmed for September so expect to see cars in Australia around then. You can expect Austrlian journo's to see the car then

Australian launch is confirmed for November which is when the press embargo's will come off and the initial drive comments from the journo's can be published

Apart from that I would suggest you will all be rather surprised at what is in the mill

                                Regards
