The brochure is targeted at the Asian market where they only have one model with the works. So don't get your hopes up.

Just to throw a spanner in the works. I came across an article in the latest edition of 4x4 Australia magazine (edition 308, P 19) that states, starting 2011, "unless specifically permitted by the vehicle manufacturer, vehicles equipped with ESC as original equipment cannot be modified". This applies to vehicles registered in states that have adopted the NCOP (National Code of Practise). Very interesting article.

I have at work a scanned copy of dealers paperwork with all the features listed for the three and five door models. It is a but hard to decipher and I can only read about 60% of it. I am waiting on a colour paper copy to be dropped off. When I het it I will post it up.

I would not worry too much about the current dealer pack as it is not up to date. They will get an new pack around the end of October at the current rate of progress. Global and Australian launch dates remain as per my previous comments with November being the big event nationally.

Apart from that you can count on the following; a version of LandRovers terrain response, 7 airbags will be standard across all models, there will be camera technology on the high end models similiar to that in Lexus AWD and 4WD models but more of them, spare will be on the rear door for Australia, engines and transmissions as I have previously stated, HID and active headlights on some models as well as crash prevention radar, CRAWL technology is in with several speeds from 1kmh up to around 6kmh which will be interesting but not significantly different from LC200 in a technology sense, KDSS is in but not across the board. I can also assure you it looks better in the flesh than any of the pictures so far posted

Apologies if this has already been mentioned but according to the dealer that showed me his pre-release specs, the height is about 200mm lower than the current model and width and length both increase. Width increase designed to comfortably fit 3 child seats across. Owning an old 2000 model the extra width will be very welcome and the height reduction can only help get into more carparks with the racks on!

RobA - I couldn't find where you had said what the engine/transmission will be except for a cryptic comment. Any more ideas that you are able to share?

          Cheers

Engines are the same with 6 and 7% improvements in fuel consumption on petrol and diesel respectively although these figures may change slightly as they have not completed the ADR fuel cycle testing yet and/or made the results known. Marginal increased in Nm and Torque but essentially the same. The auto trans will get some revised mapping. The known dimensional specs, for the new 5 door, are below

            Overall Length mm 4930 ( +80)
            Overall Width mm 1885 (+10) 1875
            Overall Height mm 1890 (-15) 1905
            Clearance mm 220
            Approach Angle degrees 32.0
            Departure Angle degrees (-1) 25.0
            Rampover Angle degrees 22.0

ROBA , it would seem from previous posts that Satnav is only included on the top of the range model. Any idea if this is true or not.
Seems odd when should be a given. I am happy to be a guinea pig on this one, and am on the waiting list. My Land Rover has been out of action for 3 weeks now as spare parts appear to be kept in the UK. ( fuel hoses at tank end) . Really over it, nice to drive but 3 weeks for a spare part so far and getting the Hump.

                  Thanks for the clarification RobA
Height reduction of 15mm is alot different to the 200mm that my dealer told me!

Craig there are several options that surround the multia media screen which uses the reversing camera system and these will of course vary from model to model. Satnav will most likely be an option across the model range as it is with the current 120 series. The new camera system used in the high end models also uses this screen and size will also vary model to model depending on options fitted. All in all there is some quite interesting technology on the way but as usual its value will be in the eye of the individual user. I am more interested in the active HID headlights, KDSS and crawl so my next one will probably be the VX configuration but that could always change once I get to know them better and that happens in October with any luck

This sounds disappointing when the Discovery 4 has 180kw and 600nm and similar fuel consumption  and can tow 3500kg. Like I have said before european diesels have it way over japs.

Yea the engine specs of European diesels are great but ask a mechanic working for the European car companies and they will tell you that longevity decreases back to petrol standards. Also (don't get me wrong the Disco is a great 4WD) ask a Disco owner about quality.

Richo , the very reason my next vehicle will be a toyota. Swapped from a landcruiser 12 years ago and have since had two landrovers. The fiasco with my current TD5 Discovery where a simple fuel hose (on its way from the UK by canoe) has left me stranded for 3 1/2 weeks so far. I like the vehicle but the after sales service seems very poor. I am sure Toyota are not perfect either, but at least spare parts should not be an issue.

Our car is 12 years old, petrol, done 230K, of which 170k has all been touring or reasonably serious 4WDriving, only issue is Toyota's attitude.
