    RE: The 108L tank.

Suspect you guys are right about the majority of Prado buyers not caring about the 180L tank. Sounds very much like Toyota are moving the Prado away from 4X4 offroad capability toward the family people carrier. That will make up the bulk of sales for sure. I really wouldn't be surprised if the "Toyota Landcruiser 76 Workmate" series wagons now become the campers choice. see below.

Interesting to compare that to the original 70-series Prado model. 1990 - 1996.

Do you see a similarity???? Hmmmmmm.....

The satnav looks very impressive (i don't understand it but impressive :? )looks like it has tv and dvd and more feature but hey I can't read japanese.I don't like ,what looks like a side mirror next to the headlight- looks like someone stabbed it in the eye from the other angle. By all accounts it has retained its current shape and done away with the spare wheel on the back door. So you could be right navy1430 this could be it.Notice the third pic it looks like Sydney.

Hey it might of retained its curent shape but it looks pretty good and how about the v6 it says 8.1lts per 100 km that surely can't be right? If only I could read Japanese because I got to say thats got to be wrong.

The photo supposedly in Sydney was a photoshop as proven in the 'new rear door design' thread. The Japanese fuel consumption figures are in km/L, not L/100km.

in that case it works out to be around 12.4lts/100km,now that is more like it. Thanks SM10 I was starting to think it was a bad move to have converted my rig to gas. . Anyway if I was in the market for an upgrade I would definitely wait to see what the lastest had to offer and if I didn't like it, then there would be some great deals on the runouts.

Toyota have had seats that do this for more than 20 years. But ever tried resting with the seats like this? It's no good even for watching a movie at a drivein.

I actually used mine in this configuration the other night when I was stranded in a no name town for work.
It was pouring with rain so was either a wet swag or the seats.

I slept great, only woke up once during the night when god threw a huge thunderclap at me!

Have you tried it Lawrence? I personally feel its great and works well. Much better than my other option!

                  Rear door design.

The rear door in the pics is nothing new. I have been working in Baku, Azerbiajan for a few years now and the company has a 2005 prado. The rear door on it is the same as the Japanese model pics. Also in Dubai you find this model. It does seem as Australia kept the old design due to our love of the big fuel tank. The spare is in place of the second tank in these models.

TP, I've indeed tried it but it doesn't work well for me because I tend to sleep on my side a lot and my spine feels like it's being bent unnaturally.

Still I admit it's better than no bed at all!

I don't think it matters what updates come through to Australia. The chances will always be that they have been available in other countries for years before we even get a sniff. Those decisions are made by Toyota Australia as to our options and we always seem to be left behind. Take the V6 that we eventually got in the Hilux which had been available in other countries since the release of the 4Runner, but Toyota AUS didnt think we needed it (or maybe the incentive to use up the 4cyl engines were more enticing).

I would suggest you will need to wait about a year at least before an update is released. It will be a totally different sshape supposedly, more a rav 4/cruiser shape.

Cheers Thanks for the reply going to order this model, if they are going to look anything like a kluger or 200 series I want one before the style of this vechile looks anything like one of these. Going to put a OME lift kit and ARB bull bar straight on it before it hits the driveway, so should be sweet. Thanks again for your time.

Prob a good choice, the update is not rumoured to appear before 2010 at this point anyway.
