I know this is older thread, but hope this might be helpful to others.

I managed to modify the card holder and added a simple USB hub to enable multi usb input to the entertainment system. Now I can utilize the 2 USB sources to play music. I used the Belkin usb hub with some modifications to the card holder. I did not remove the card holder completely, but instead used it to hold the usb in place. I used this mainly to replace the usb from center console.

An old thread I know but was very useful. I am looking at removing the card holder also, BUT on closer inspection, mine has a white USB socket attached to the left side, and can feel a wire going off behind the holder to where????. Inserting a USB does nothing, haven't tried a charging cable yet, but if I go ahead with the cerd holder removal, what do I do with this socket? I guess removing the Audio head would help me trace it if no one has any ideas, MY2013 150 series.

Are you the original owner of the vehicle? If not, I'm guessing previous owner maybe installed a USB charger socket??

Pulled mine out tonight. Will be installing a Uniden 8080S in the space left over. Such a great location! Sized it all up and plenty of room. Easy access to the firewall for power and antenna cable.

electronic toll gathering framework/box/gadget. A few autos have them worked in, however most have them included a short time later. By and large these ETC boxes can be expelled with no evil consequences for the auto.
