    Zerosecta,

Thanks for sharing your drama's here. You've done so well to keep the emotion out of your posts when I can imagine you'd want to let RIP!

When you're new to 4wdriving and the endless accessories you need, think you need, don't need but think you need, mates tell you that you need, posts like yours can help us all avoid the rotters out there that take advantage.

Well done on persisting and you'd have never seen you money if it all went back. Hope you get the leak sorted.

Just so everyone here is clear, based on this experience, never never never never never go to Cal off-road. Like ever.

Time to start filling up the piggy bank to save up for something different me thinks... Something with threaded shock body for easy height adjustment would be next choice.
You got to try and return it.......

All jokes aside, sorry to hear its leaking after all your dramas!!

Agree - there is nothing special or different about CalOffroad's stuff that sets it significant aprt from anything else out there... and the bottom line is they are hard to deal with remotely so even if they are willing to work with you to exchange spring etc. till its right, it will be a very long and drawn out process...

I would also reccomend you get on board with the group buy - save yourself a ton of cash, deal with a vendor who will look after you and if you do want the other little fancy bits like shiny extended sway bar links etc. then you can just purchase then seperatley from most places.

The recommendation is, if you want a good result and a peaceful life, stay away from CalOffroad.

Use ARB, TJM, or if you have mechanical expertise go with amts Bilstein/Kings group buy:

    Customer service is everything.
I had a terrible experience with an ARB product whilst on a remote trip.
I was fuming when i arrived back at the store a few week later, but they sorted me out and i left the store smiling.
ARB has my business until the end of days now as I know how they handle warranty work.
    They are professional.

Yep, Vcat or consumer affairs could have been used in this situation.

It's been said, but I'll say it again. I've taken on some very big boys and won, by just lodging for a VCAT hearing.

    As above x 2!
They had the opportunity to sort it out and it seems didn't.
The OP has clearly posted factual evidence and actions.
Always two sides but one side has gone quiet.

In a sense, I think you are correct, but the best possible behaviour from a parts and service business is good service and rapid correction of mistakes.

I've seen people slag off at suppliers and then have the supplier fix their problems resulting in praise from the customer. That is a good outcome, and it shows that the supplier does care about their customers even if they are difficult, and lets face it there are plenty of difficult customers about!

In this particular case, there have been so many problems with the kit and the delays in correcting errors that I think there wouldn't be many PP'ers remotely thinking of supporting that business. You can drag an iron out of the fire, but you have to act quickly. This one is welded into the fire.

    Hi,

I drove past Caloffroad over Easter and personally I wouldn't buy anything sight unseen from them but for every bad report on here theres an ok one so what do I know?

I work in wholesale and experience tells me (from talking to retailers in the auto game) once a customer slags them on social media they've lost them anyway so then all help stops, refunds and anything else. As for ACCC or Fair trading I think he got around that by offering a refund early on and it being rejected left the door open and then slagging off on social media tops it off. Unfortunatley once this starts a retailer trying to defend himself on social media is a waste of time and only makes it worse and experience also tells me theres always two sides to every story.
