Customer service is everything.
I had a terrible experience with an ARB product whilst on a remote trip.
I was fuming when i arrived back at the store a few week later, but they sorted me out and i left the store smiling.
ARB has my business until the end of days now as I know how they handle warranty work.
They are professional.
I have a 2009 Kakadu, and was wondering after reading all this. what everyone recommends I do in regards to lifting my 4wd? I have bulbar and winch on the front and it sits very low. I cant find many other options that going with caloffroad for this vehicle. please help
Agree - there is nothing special or different about CalOffroad's stuff that sets it significant aprt from anything else out there... and the bottom line is they are hard to deal with remotely so even if they are willing to work with you to exchange spring etc. till its right, it will be a very long and drawn out process...
I would also reccomend you get on board with the group buy - save yourself a ton of cash, deal with a vendor who will look after you and if you do want the other little fancy bits like shiny extended sway bar links etc. then you can just purchase then seperatley from most places.
Feedback on the Bilstein Struts - Only about 3000Klms and one 4x4 weekend through the high country and one of the struts is already showing signs of leeking oil :-( not major leakage but a clear mark of oil residue formed around the top of the Strut...
Time to start filling up the piggy bank to save up for something different me thinks... Something with threaded shock body for easy height adjustment would be next choice.

Cut my loss's long long time ago on this one Boy's - Rightly or Wrongly....
I'll just seek alternatle options to get sorted now and pay accordingly
Zerosecta,
Thanks for sharing your drama's here. You've done so well to keep the emotion out of your posts when I can imagine you'd want to let RIP!
When you're new to 4wdriving and the endless accessories you need, think you need, don't need but think you need, mates tell you that you need, posts like yours can help us all avoid the rotters out there that take advantage.
Well done on persisting and you'd have never seen you money if it all went back. Hope you get the leak sorted.
Just so everyone here is clear, based on this experience, never never never never never go to Cal off-road. Like ever.
I have a Cal Offroad kit. The main thing I found annoying was how hard to get hold of they could be. You call and you get an office lady, not someone who is useful for any questions you have. Being an idiot, when I installed the fronts, I put the spring seat on upside down, so it sat way too high and was too hard.
Now, it is much better, however I think it still sits a bit high in the front.
However, being in Perth, it is too hard to deal with them from this far away. In the future, I'm just going to a local place and will save myself the trouble.

Hi all,
Just read through this thread and I feel you pain.
I thought the Toughdog stuff I put in was average, but cal sounds bloody tragic.
Hope it all ends well.

Just fitted a Caloffroad kit today to a 150 GXL. Got a bit dark by the time it was finished. Hopefully can get some height measurements when it settles.
