If the Koni Springs are also 90 series like with the struts than they are unlikely to be different lengths, that may be the problem. As AMTS has said the factory springs are different lengths so your aftermarket ones should be too. Dobinsons make KDSS specific coils, I am running C59-726 on mine. I have a steel bullbar and winch on mine as well as a dual battery system up front so went for the heavier springs. I did not change the factory TEMS shocks, did not want to lose the in-cabin adjustment feature that only the factory shocks support.

Are you sure the surface you are measuring on is perfectly flat?

You need to ask/tell your mechanic:
    1. Does Koni coils come in uneven length pairs to suit the Kakadu?
    2. If not and he proposes to use different coils, then the stiffness must be the same and the coils should be ~10mm longer on the driver's side.
    3. The front height of the Kakadu after a 2" lift should measure 800mm with 18" rims. So the correct stiffness coil needs to be installed to match the accessories you have installed (bullbar, winch, dual batts, etc)
    4. If Koni coils don't come in uneven lengths, then install a 6mm strut spacer onto the driver's side.
    5. If the lean still exists, then bleed the KDSS system.
    5. If there are no available coils to suit your application and overcome the lean, then rip the suspension out and get a refund. King springs do s KDSS specific pair and Bilstein have 3 position adjustable spring seat. The spring seat can be 1 position higher on the driver's side if required.

Find a different mechanic that is clued up. All the information is on here.

As the spring seat is not adjustable, then there may be coil spacers available. But don't fit strut spacers. You will end up with bent struts. The only exception is strut spacers up to 6mm thick. Don't go thicker than that.

    Hi Amts,

As far as I'm aware the Koni's are he and on both sides. I suggested to run a longer coil but the mechanic dismissed it and said it won't make a difference. Also the spring seats are not adjustable. So spacers is my only option then?

Not sure what the part numbers are.

The factory springs are taller on the driver's side by 10mm. So after market springs should be taller too.

Are the Koni coils the same length both sides? If not did they install it on the wrong side?

Is the spring seat on the strut adjustable via spacers? If the shop is suggesting strut spacers then that would be a bad idea.

    What are the part numbers?

Kakadu Lean - What to do...

    Hey guys,

I am having issues with my lift kit on my Kakadu.
I have done a lot of research in regards to the Kakadu Lean. I noticed mine when I put the Bull Bar and Winch on.

I have been dealing with Guest 4wd in Alphington, VIC. I have upgraded my Struts to Koni 90 Series Shocks and Koni Springs.
Long storey, it didn't get the 2" lift I wanted in the first place because of miss-communication error, but its going back on the 9th of May to be lifted.

The problem that I am having is a drastic lean to the front right corner. I am currently sitting at 720mm on the Front Right and 765mm on the Front Left.
    So a 35mm Lean.......

Guest 4wd will be doing everything in their power to rectify my problems, but not sure which path to go down.....
Guest are suggesting that the KDSS gets Bled, we run HD Struts and some spacers down the right side of the car.
Or should I be running a longer spring on the right side?

Any advice would be appreciated as this is the most recently updated thread.

Cheers for the info! Yeh i installed the dobinsons kdss springs. Not bad within 5mm with dual batteries etc.

I've only got 8mm of spacers might try a little more.

What did you guys use to space them ?

Just make sure that the front springs are level and are the desired height before raising the rear with spacers, as the front is the primary driver for leveling the KDSS. The original front springs on the Kakadu are not even, as the driver side coil is taller.

    cheers

15mm ish. You can adjust the height sensor on the slotted bracket as well for fine tuning
