Theres a arb steel bullbar and dual batteries at the front and i went for heavy duty at the rear because i had a kaymar dual wheel carrier fitted by arb. The funny thing was that arb forgot to put in about 4-5 bolts in around where the hitch is to attach the bar to the chassis i only found out because the guy putting in the lift said it doesnt look right and i towed a trailer two weeks before i found out. took it back and they tell me the fitter forgot.

      Slatts,

the ride is pretty good not firm or spongy, alot better than i was expecting due to the heavy duty rear springs. I went away to a place called saunders gorge in the adeliade hills on the weekend and the ride was unbeleivable. I would definately recomend this set up.

Booked the Prado in on Thursday for a set of Koni's and king springs in the standard height (won't fit in the garage with a lift).
Front has dropped about 40mm since new and it's starting to eat tyres.
        FL 734mm
        FR 740mm
        RL 786mm
        LR 786mm
Rears have the airbags at about 6-8psi
        Mmmmm,
Bit of a fail here, front stayed the same despite the Kings apparently being about 30%.stiffer, going to try a set of lovells, as they apparently give a little bit of lift over standard. Maybe this is made worse by rear going up?
Rears have gone to 810, so had to remove rear roof bar to get into garage.
        Bugger!!!!
Koni's are set to standard damping, seemed a little more settled on the road than before.
Starting to think I may have spent $1700 bucks for not much return though and SWMBO is not overly impressed.

Update on my 150. Buying some superior engineering rear coil spacers in a fortnight. The rear end is sitting at 835mm and it's dropping abit with the camper on. I don't want the harsh ride of HD springs, so I am buying 30mm spacers to add to the rear springs. Next month I am planning to buy some snake racing alloy spacers for the front struts. Again, i am happy with the ride, but want another 20/25mm of lift. This should result in front height of 805/810mm. I will give this a run and see how it goes, I really like the ride of the current medium springs, pity the height needs a kick in the pants !

Have you considered air bags? I have Poly Airs, at 25psi when the van is on, and MD springs in the rear, and the van sits level at this set up.

Yeah, comes down to price. $280 for air bags verses $80 for spacers

I put in ToughDog Adjustable 40mm lift, and got the following

                  Before lift, w Winch/Winch Bar/Second Battery/etc
                  FR 720mm
                  FL 715mm
                  RR 775mm
                  RL 760mm

After the lift i ended up with the following
                  FR 790mm
                  FL 785mm
                  RR 855mm
                  RL 855mm

                    Matt,
Where you getting the strut spacers for $80, I looked at snake racing and they were $180, superiors didn't have them for the 150, but the 120s were about $220.
Fitting the strut spacers is my plan B if the lovells don't pick up the front enough.
Starting to really think I should have stuck with an OME kit as I never had any dramas with the kit I had in the Patrol.

Front strut spacers are $180 a pair at snake racing. Rear coil polyurethane spacers for a 120 (should be same as 150) are $80 a pair for 30mm thick units at Superior engineering.

                        Hi Ryzz,

Pretty impressive numbers when it is supposed to be only 40mm, did the mechanic say whether the springs would drop anymore?

What hardness did you go with and how is the ride?

                        Cheers

Ive measured the ride height a number of times since having it installed and it has not dropped at all. I cant remember what springs they put in the front, however they put the heavy duty (+300kg Load) in the rear + Polyair bags, however im having the rears swapped for the normal rate springs with polyairs instead as the back is way to bouncy as i dont have enough weight in the back to compress the springs.

Otherwise ride is perfect, i tend to run the shocks pretty hard, which does make the ride a little more harsh, however it makes the handling, close to a race car

Now worries, I thought you may have found a secret stash somewhere, I'll see how the lovells go this Friday and if they don't pick up the front, the spacers will be the next plan

Im also thinking about putting some snake racing strut spacers in the front end to bring it up level with the rear. I really dislike car suspension lift kits that leave the arse all jacked up it looks crap.

At the moment there is about 35mm difference between the front and rear of the side steps, noticeably nose down attitude (bad enough for the misses to comment on it)
