    Throw in a more aggressive tread along with extra weight and it becomes obvious why economy takes a hit. The extra weight is all unsprung as well so has to affect rode quality.

      As would the stiffer sidewalls on the BFGs... no real point running them when these tyres are only for running up and down the highway..
      the HTs are quieter, more comfortable, better economy. No real downside ..

        Of course the HTs will suit the paved highways. Also better roadholding, better steering response, better emergency braking response, better safety.
        You won't see mudders on track race car.
        Yes, it would be nice to be able to justify and afford two sets of wheels

          I’ve just never run HTs before to be able to compare. Have always used AllTerrains (Coopers, BFGs) as my ‘road’ tyres..
