    Hey D4D

I'm looking forward to getting the 150 "Off Road", with all this rain and the rep the Glasshouse Mtns have for sticky mud holes is there somewhere we can go that doesn't need a winch? ARB can't deliver my winch bar till mid April now, thats a 2 month lead time.

      Hey All,

We'll wait for Matt to decide if the GlassHouse option still goes ahead for this weekend.
I agree with Gordon in that with the added rain about at the moment, its not looking to good for a daytrip.
We wouldn't want people slipp'n and sliding into trees etc. let alone the recoveries, as I don't have a winch either.

      Cheers

Re: Getting to the GTG - from SEQ/Nortern NSW

Hello Matt (aka LFaR) and All attending the 2010GTG and the Trip down South,

With much regret I am unable to attend this years GTG.
Another trip has been organized by the Mrs, one that was promised by me a few years ago to which she has just decided to take me up on.

Unfortunately I can only take so much leave from work during the year and can’t do both.
So a hard decision had to me made,….either her trip or the GTG.
Believe me when I say the GTG would have been a much more cheaper option for us, whilst the other is one of those Holidays you probably do only once or twice in life time.

As we had already been to last years Get Together in the Red Centre it was only fair to go along with her plans this year.
I was really looking forward to the trip down with the Qld Crew and may still do the first night or two.
I was also eager to catch up with some familiar faces again,... then again I see most of you so regulary these days on our weekend adventures.
I guess there's always next year.

I'd still like to be included on how the Trip South is progessing.
And I'm sure Matt won't lead you all stray,....o.k. maybe there will be a few of his famous U-Turns.

Enjoy your Easter break and speak to you all soon.

        Cheers
        Stewy

Hehe. I'll try not to disappoint .

Sorry to hear you won't be making this trip, but the alternative sounds pretty attractive too.

See you on the next one mate.

Well Matt, I was lucky enough to get my leave approved for both the trip down to the GTG and also the GTG itself....Pretty good deal considering that my company normally only does leave approvals for 3 months in advance...So if you need any assistance with your expert itinery please let me know. I will be up for a bit of a weekend away to check a few tracks out if necessary.

              Hi Matt,

Are we still looking at 6-7 days for the Getting to the GTG trip??
I'm looking into possibly booking an off-road CT for the trip and my guesstimate would be a friday the 24th Sept or Saturday the 25th Sept departure.
              Cheers, Leon

Re: Getting to the GTG - from SEQ/Nortern NSW

Hi Leon (Snaga), Last I heard from Matt (LFaR) was a couple of weeks ago when he said: "I'll broadcast a message in the near future. Basically, the intention is to leave on Sat 25th Sep. To cover the distance, we don't think we'll be able to do the entire trip as planned. So some days will likely be via the highway." He's pretty flat out so we'll just wait on more info. Only 5 months, 2 weeks and 6 days til we leave (but who's counting!!) Cheers, Dave R (on the SEQpreGTG and the GTG now.)

Hows the new job, got any further on the planning? Maybe a day out on the southside for some fun with a lunch to discuss.

Re: Getting to the GTG - from SEQ/Nortern NSW

Sounds like a fine idea to me!

Lemme check with she who matters most as to what we have planned over the next couple of weekends.

Here's a thought, for a couple of quick tours in one day...

The idea would be to explore some of the local tracks on offer just of the Pacific Highway.

Heading South, we'd meet at the Ormeau tracks to have a bit of a play. Then down the hwy to Reedy Creek tracks. Both offer some challenging and technical 4WD'ing. I spent 4 hours last Sunday night in mud up to my knees, whilst recovering my son from a bog hole at Reedy Ck. I'm sure that will appeal to Gordo's 4WD'ing appetite .

When we're done, we're not far from Burleigh Heads, so perhaps some fish-n-chips or a few at the Burleigh hotel to finish off.

Let me know if that sounds good or if you have alternative suggestions. I'll then put in a plan in the trip-reports section.

Richo, the new job is goin' great. I'm havin' too much fun, but don't want to let on .

Also, I'm just about ready to put in a trip plan for the June long weekend that will emulate the 1st leg of the trail to the GTG. Keep an eye out for that in the next day or few.

                      LFaR.

                        Hi Matt

Sounds fantastic, I would have some guests that would do the "Goldie" day as well. The days I can't make are the 4th and 25th July. Great to see the new role is going well, just don't tell the bosses they'll want to ruin it.

                              Hi Matt,
Did you guys manage an 'organised chat' about the getting to the GTG? ... or did any discussions happen on the trails again.

Zo needs firm'ish dates to tell work and I am guessing at the 25th Sept as a departure date.

Also, what amount of time are people allowing to travel back from the GTG?
                              Cheers, Leon

I'll run a poll in email to confirm this. So far there have been requests for departing on Fri 24th or Sat 25th. I hoped to have some more planning completed, but that is still coming along. So I'll just focus on the departure date.
