Thats a bit of an ask. I have a food allergy but look after myself. If I cant eat what others are having then I munch on backup snacks I carry. You must be very patient 8)[/quote:24mci2qt]
No I meant special dinners like the meet & greet and the farewell BBQ or dinner. Sometimes the GTG is held on a particular day like last year which was the 4th of July and with our American members attending we put on a 4th of July party including a fabulous cake that was really a work of art, not to mention it tasted great too.
We had a bar going that LFaR's father graciously manned and did a superb job too. These are all the things that need to be accounted for, the objective is to go from strength to strength with the GTG's, making them something special.
There is also the prizes for the various categories which always goes down well, this year we had MaxTrax providing a couple of pairs of MaxTrax as lucky door prizes which they also did the year before. On top of that there were prizes provided by Ample Outdoors who again also provided and ran the prize giving at Ayers Rock the year before. This year there was a $50 levy per car which went towards other prizes and the end of GTG BBQ.
All in all we have a great time at the GTG's and I would like to see this sort of planning and level continue in the future, it would be good if we could make it a state by state venture such that each year it is held in a different state.
I had planned to hold it back here in the NT next year before this thread occured, my plan was to hold it at Old Ambalindum Station but I am happy to let the reigns go to others if they wish to host the event.
