Who has their fuel tank breathers raised?

In a perfect world are we not concerned about water in fuel?

If I had an auto I would make sure I had a raised breather for the transmission, but I don't.

This Sunday at 1pm on network TEN, Pat Callinan is in the Victorian High Country. Might be worth having a look at what might be coming our way.

Here is a bit of a trailer of the show- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUgBQe_r2-8

Not sure about Vodaphone, Telstra you can normally get a signal up on the ridges, or If you stand on the picnic table @ Talbotville and hold your tongue the right way..... Not sure if this is going to work for you!!

Not much vodafail service in high country.
                  It will work at Mansfield.
It will work in and out the first day or 2 depending which way you go.
It won't work the duration at Talbotville.
Telstra works some spots in Talbotville & surroundings a bit too.

I have telstra and I will also need coverage as work is likely to follow me. What are people's experiences with adding a vehicle mobile antenna? Are they worth the $$? I might have to put one in if they'll provide better reception whilst I'm there.

I was able to get reception with an external antenna last time I was in there with the Recce. Only a few bars but enough to make phone calls. I also had my phone setup as a hotspot and the guys were getting internet from it.

                        Thanks for the info Nema.

Out of curiosity, what phone were you using? I have an Iphone5, but I don't believe it can be hooked up directly to an external antenna. I think you can get an antenna/booster cradle though. So I'd be interested in what aerial/phone/cradle you're using?

                            Hey Ian.

I am using an iphone 4. The 4s get better reception than the 5s but I have mine in one of these.

                            http://www.prestigecom.net.au/Carcom...Apple-iPhone-4

This is only an example I did not purchase mine here and I also go a suction cup mount with it and its not hardwired but plug in aux plug. It means I can move it between my work car and personal car with easy.

I was skeptical before i bought it but it does work albeit only a little bit. If you can get 1 bar normally you could get 2-3 bars. If you get none normally you MAY get one. It was good in Central Australia. When I got within 50km of the next town I would normally hear the message sound go off.

I can take a photo if you want.

                            Cheers

So how is everyone's travel plans going to get to the GTG? The Tasmanian convoy will be staying in Glenrowan on the Monday night ready for a leisurely drive to Mansfield on the Tuesday.

Vaughan, you won't need to go that high up the Hume unless you specifically wont to explore Kelly Country. I usually bail at Tallarook and head across through Yea, bypass Alexandra, through "We're going to Bonnie Doon" then through to Mansfield! Glenrowan is a lot further up the freeway than you need.
