Never mind that annoying person, how about telling Pradopoint how good the trip was, what the highlights and challenges were, and dump a lot of photos here and trip reports.

No news during and at the end is very unusual for a Pradopoint trip!

I didn't go on the trip, but was on the Gibb river road a few weeks before. It was excellent. One of the Highlights was the trip to Mitchell Falls, which was very, very, muddy. Did the PP trip go to Mitchell Falls, and how muddy was it?

Here is our Prado when we got back to Drysdale:

Who else was a little annoyed about the uninvited tag along we seemed to have on this trip? A certain John that was kicked off Pradopoint some time ago that just so happened to be camping at ElQuestro when we turned up. Then happened to be at Winjana as well and Derby too. Coincidence? I don't think so!
And then the cheeky prick checked into the same caravan park as us claiming to be part of our group to get a discount!

Well we're all here in Broome for the last night of the GTG. Just chilling out at the caravan park for a while until 4:30 when we'll head down to Cable Beach for a sunset photo shoot.
It's been a great trip and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves.
It's certainly been a different drive along the Gibb for us, trying to look at it from a tourists viewpoint, someone who's never driven it. I guess we've gotten a bit blase about the Gibb River Road having traveled it so many times, so it's been good for us.
I'll have to go through my photos and post some up.

Just got into Kununurra this morning, called into Kununurra Toyota to see Loyd about the GTG and he gave us a few goodies to give away. Really nice bloke. Unfortunately he didn't have a flag to give us so we may be a little harder to spot at Lake Argyle. Just call into reception and they'll point you in the right direction.
The Gibb River Road itself is a little rough in placed but there are road crews out there now patching it up. It is also dusty, very dusty! That means we'll be having to space us out quite a bit on the road.
Having lunch at the cafe sandlewood and also picking up a few goodies from them to put in the welcome bags.
    It's all coming together!
Unfortunately Ivanhoe Crossing is closed because of the wonderful wet season they've had this year. There's a lot of water coming through the gates at the diversion dam.

We will be hitting the Gibb River Rd tomorrow(Sun) with The Gibb Challenge bike ride at 6am from Derby, so will be out of mobile range until Wednesday for a brief time(at the lookout above HV8) and then not again until we get to Kununurra next Saturday.
If anyone needs to contact us, best bet is text or messenger(we don't have the Sat Phone yet).
See you all at Lake Argyle!

Hey VK, I can point you in the direction of a good free camp 50 km west of Katherine. An old quarry that is full of fresh water, plenty of flat ground to camp on.

There is a theory to my thinking.

It is only about an extra 50km to go via Burra and more chances of finding a free camp as apposed to going via Adelaide. I have no requirements to go to Adelaide on the way to the GTG as I will be coming back through it on the way home after the GTG.

    Our itinerary;
21st- Burra (Red Banks Conservation Park)
    22nd- Coober Pedy
    23rd- Alice Springs
24th- Elliott (12km west at billabong)
    25th- Darwin (cabin)
    26th- Darwin (cabin)
27th- 100km west of Kathrine (somewhere)
    28th- Lake Argyle

Up until Darwin all the overnight stops will be free camping around those areas. There will be a white and silver Prado travelling in convoy with Tassie plates so keep your eyes out and give us a call if you spot us.
The reason for going to Darwin is that is where our families are flying into and it just worked logistically for us.

Our bags are packed, just need to pack the fridge, hook the camper up and ready for the boat trip on Saturday night.

Looks like there is going to be quite a few of us sort of leap frogging each other up the center. Everyone travelling at different speeds so it will be interesting to see who catches up with who along the way.

We're leaving Coral Bay tomorrow, heading for Broome.

Some small issues, heading into Perth - overheating. But turns out was just a rad cap - but coolant and oil change done. Power of Facebook for you.
