Excitement levels are sure building here. Had our first camp of the season the other week and it felt like we were in the Kimberly if we took away the coldness, the green grass, and the rain.

As long as we can all be together to celebrate the end of another great GTG then as far as I am concerned that is all that matters.

I'm still working on accommodation providers in Broome. I'm pretty sure we will be staying in the Cable Beach area as it nice and close to the beach, pubs, cafes, shops and has a bus service into town.
Do people mind if we are squashed up a bit, or are you keen to have some space after 2 weeks? It's just that most places already have bookings and it's difficult but not impossible, to get us all in one area. Being our last official night and the potential for a bit of a party atmosphere, I would like to see us kept together. As I feared the costs are up there (no discounts), but I expected that and we've had some great support from others to offset this.
The machine (that's me) will be really kicking into gear later this week once I have our numbers finalised.
Ramping up the excitement factor!!

Well, have planned our itinerary.
Looks like Broome Toyota will get some of my business. According to the best "guess" from Hema and Mr Google, I will have done 7844KM from Hobart to Broome. We have a friends wedding on May 20th - so no catch up's in Perth.
Total trip using the above, 12, 837KM. Guestimate on fueling for the thirsty 6 will be 20 re-fueling.

I have met hundreds of PRADOPOINT crew, there is no place I have ever met so many good people.
Prado owners are generally awesome!
Now there is an event you can meet some good people, you have some experienced people organising the trip who know the area, the trip is virtually free. People pay thousands for this sort of thing.
The trip itinerary has been scrutinised & is rated very good by people who have done similar trips.
Could be once a lifetime opportunity. Don't forget thousands of $$$$$ in sponsors prizes as a bonus.
There will even be a Prado technician to help reliability for the trip.
One of Australia's best locations to check out, I'm hanging out, hope to see you there.
Fun fun fun
Or
Go on your own? No no no

All of the parks and reserves advise to collect firewood before entry. You'll know when you are getting close because all the shrubs and sticks have been taken. There isn't a great deal to cut to be honest. We usually grab fallen branches and dead stuff as seen. I'll have a chain-saw, only a small one by Tassie standards.

We don't usually carry anything other than an axe, but we might bring a small saw along. Biggest thing for some is having somewhere to store/ carry wood. I will check where we are allowed fires and if any can supply wood. Keeping in mind that is usually warmish at night so your not using it to keep warm, just for entertainment.Originally posted by VKPrado View PostSpeaking of a chainsaw, do we need to bring one or will a foldable hand saw do if cutting up some firewood?
As much as I love to wheel a chainsaw (Stihl - proudly bought to you by Tas Chainsaw and Mover Products. Proud sponsor of the 2015 GTG) about and cut things up, I don't really want to have to cart one for 9 weeks if a hand saw will do.
BTW - love your plug there..
