Sooo....Wonder if Spotters will be a sponsor? No need for me, I knew I needed glasses for a while now, so ordered normal pair and a pair of spotters perscription sunnies!

I helped him get it out, thought he'd be right because he "had big tyres". drove right around the mains roads boysOriginally posted by VKPrado View PostWonder what was so important that they had to do that? The mind set of some people is just unbelievable.

You can get fuel at Lake Argyle but as with all caravan park fuel outlets, it is expensive! If you can wait till Kununurra do so. Just a heads up as well, there is a co-op just north of the town that sells diesel for about 10c/l cheaper than the servos in town. It's one of those self serve credit card outlets.Originally posted by VKPrado View PostOnce we cross the state border we are going straight to Lake Argyle. Didn't want to do an extra 80km round trip to just get fuel. We will be full leaving Kathrine and just top up at Timber Creek and then at Kununurra once wee have left Lake Argyle.
Only 99 days till we leave to begin our trip to the start of the GTG.

Just did a quick search, but yes looks that way - Kunnurra would be cheaper.
Quick search on Petrol Spy, has Timber Creek at $1.60/l vs Kunnurra $1.39 (Cheaper than Hobart!)
Mr. Google says less than 3 hour drive - but for you VKPrado, less than two!

Just wondering for those in the know. Is Timber Creek the last fuel stop in the Northern Territory before crossing into Western Australia?

The latest newsletter is a good read especially the section on the quarantine as most of us will be coming in from interstate.
My boys have already been doing "research" on the crocodiles so they will enjoy the new information that has been given.

They also usually have a chopper based there for sightseeing tours too.

Yeah the Fitzroy River Lodge. We've stayed there, nice grassy sites.

Nice and green with heaps of big shady trees, good facilities and reasonably quiet. Has a nice tavern with good food and you can have a beer without fear of getting humbugged by the locals.Originally posted by derek11 View PostThe caravan park on the east side of Fitzroy River is a good park to stay in for the night.

Ohhh....damn, so many options, so little time!Originally posted by derek11 View PostCasey, go on the Geikie Gorge boat tour just out of Fitzroy Crossing, well worth it. The caravan park on the east side of Fitzroy River is a good park to stay in for the night.
Cheers Derek
