Thanks Ryan. I will go for flat. Trust they will put in Diesel! How is yours going? Trust its all sorted now?
I will look for the check box in service manual. Considering there are two tanks - main and auxiliary - what does the fuel indicator relate to - main or both? So, if the needle says full - does that mean full for main or full for both?

Good deal! There is a Toyota checkbox in the service book to give full tank of fuel so you can expect 150 litres.Originally posted by tiwana View PostNew GXL 2.8L 2015
Silver Pearl
All Mats + Tow Bar + Front Park Assist + Bonnet Protector + Full Tank + Rego and Comp 3rd Party
$61500
Havent received yet. But will in 3 days
Question - when they say full tank... does that mean both main + auxillary i.e. 150lts?
Question - should i go for 7P round connector for towbar wire harness or flat?
I would go flat - more common I've found and you can always buy an adapter if required.

Like all goods, what you pay for a car must surely be influenced by supply and demand. The day I put a deposit down was their sale weekend and there was a lot of interest in the new (i.e. 2.8) Prado. I ended up paying $64.5k for a new GXL with some genuine fruit. According to my sums I got over $6k off retail and went home happy enough. I really doubt if there was much more to be squeezed out of the dealer on the day.Originally posted by Richoson View PostFrom my contacts in the motor industry, any good retail negotiator should be able to get within $500.00 of the top fleet price which is usually between 8% and 10% discount dependant on brand.

Insider info
As a general rule of thumb, A good price is considered 10% off RRP driveaway and 15% off a "luxury" car.
Thus a "good price " for you, should be sub $81,000.

hi.
just back from seeing a couple of dealers today. the local toyota dealer didnt hve a VX or kakadu to see or drive. He said Vx and kak's difficult to source currently. He didnt wont to talk $$. I had trouble with this dealer a few years ago. Dont know how they sell cars. Was a waste of time seeing him. Will go to another dealer tomorrow.
also looked at Ford Everest titanium. . Battery was flat. Dealer had no idea how to operate seats or controls, but he opened to conversation with ignore the "special " price of $79990 driveaway.. I can do it for $75K. Thats nearly $10,000 off RRP.
Clearly Ford arent moving Everests. So much for being a "Prado Killer"

Hi Guys,
New to the forum - I had a 2008 Discovery 3 and I am now looking to purchase my first Prado.
I am interested in getting a 2016 plate Kakadu - has anyone managed to get any prices.
I have got the price of 83,900 drive away with fuel and matts from a couple of dealers around Perth - has anyone managed to do better?
Thanks

Buy what makes you happy, really is a personal choice. The worst thing is buyers remorse when you don't buy what you want, especially when you are buying such an expensive car.

I just sold my 08 120GXL Petrol with 125,000 on it for 25k, sold in a flash. Me get not be worth as much as a Diesel but considering I bought it 18 months old in 09 for 45k, I am happy to loose 20k over 7 years. Never had an issue, not even a flat battery. Hence my have another Prado in the driveway nowOriginally posted by Symo View PostLOL, my assistant has a 10 year old V6 120, can't give it away at $9k - one of my other employees buys rights and repairs them, bought his last 120 1kd for $18K with 70k on the clock, fixed the kangaroo strike and sold it 4 weeks later for $30k. Same model, same age.
V6 is toxic come resale no matter how new or old. Even if it is more fun to drive. If want performance and 2+ Tonne towing, buy a V8 Commodore or Turbo Falcon. The shit resale is a no cost option on them too.
