Yes there is a builders plaque on the passenger door wall - but which bit tells you the build date?

Which has sharp edges and corners that are perfect for catching flowing dresses and skirts and ripping them.

Bought White GXL D4D Auto today. $61,000 on road including Towbar, Tint, Mats & Head Rest DVD player things. Pick it up Friday hopefully. Pricing info on here made it easy. Probably could have pushed for a bit more, but to be honest I doubt it would have had much impact on the monthly payments.

Priced a ZR at Wodonga with nudge bar, towbar, tint, headlight / bonnet protectors and mats $67k, but with Hilux trade will be about $30k change over... Decisions, decisions :|

The bargains are out there if you look for them! I've just picked up a used (30k kms) diesel GX from a local shire council for 46k  , fully serviced and the lousy buggers fitted a factory bull bar, tow bar, side steps and rear seats. The rear seats were the decider for the missus but I don't think they will get much use once all the wifes crap, (sorry I meant to type "gear") goes into the back. The only downside is that the installer for the mobile phone kit , vhf and uhf radios (now removed) went nuts drilling mounting holes everywhere. A small concession when the price is taken into concideration.
                  Cheers

Just ordered a January 2011 build GXL D4D Auto with metallic paint, TJM T13 bar, HR towbar, ext. warranty plus all the dealer fruit for $65K from Autocorner in Mackay. Probably not the best deal but at least I get the '011 plated machine. Just have 2½ agonising months of waiting to go now.

                      Hi all

New to the site and to potentially owning a Prado...I ahve been looking at these for a year now and finally have had teh purchased sanctioned by management. I was hoping that some of you would have had experience with purchasing the 2010 GXL Petrol under the current $59,990 promotion...I'm in WA so I know things are a bit different but realistically how far can the dealers be pushed on this...been to a couple and they are pushing the "we can't budge from that price but I can throw in as many accessories as I can line"

Anyone found any different...I would have thought that with the Toyota subsidy they would have been able to reduce the price further! Am I being a tight A%$E or will I be paying Toyota Tax?

                      Cheers

Hi, I'm new here too, but have just struck a deal on the said "$59,990" deal. In the beginning my local dealer started at 59,990 then added metallic paint, bull bar & mats for a total of 61,990. He said my trade-in was worth $37,000 (from Redbook by the looks of it) so my change over was about 25k. Well, after a week of to-ing and fro-ing, I finally wore him down to a figure I was happy with, and that was a change over of just on 17k, although I was trying for 15k. That's a movement of $8,000, so I'm sure there is plenty to play with, even on what seems a bargain at 59,990.

I remember when this model was released, there were plenty that paid well over 70k for the same thing. What's most annoying, is that in the U.S., you can pick up a Lexus GX460 (based on our Prado), but much higher spec'ed than a Kakadu, for about $55,000. It would be an interesting exercise to dissect the retail price and see what $$$'s go where. I think it would be quite a shock to most of us. My guess is these things come out of the factory for no more than 20k, with a big chunk in distributor and dealer margins and government taxes.
