Signed up for mine today, a crystal pearl new Kakadu TD, hopefully pick it up on friday.

Paid $88888 drive away for it but they (Scarboro Toyota) gave me the best trade in for my Mits Outlander VRX so I was reasonably happy, some of the lowball trade in prices I was given at other dships were laughable.

Never been a fan of white cars but the pearl is quite nice. Be nice to have a real 4wd again.

These posts have been really helpful in getting a reasonable price for a GXL Auto Diesel with mats for $61338 today in Melbourne which I pick up on Friday. I was originally working through a car buying agent with gold fleet status nominated by my wife's Union Shopper arrangement. But the best he could come up with after 20 dealer responses to his tender was $63,900 no extras. He was sceptical when I told him about the prices quoted on PP forum. So I went directly to a dealer and used the info you have provided to negotiate this price. So thank you all for for generosity and to the administrator of this site - you have helped me save several thousnads of dollars.

Congrats!! How long is yours going to be?? I've been told mid december for mine. Oh well good xmas pressie i guess!

Im coming from an e-series HSV so the prado isnt to flash in acceleration but i did punt the test car into a 80kmh corner at about 130kmh so its not too bad handling!

Funny we are in a Rex, so the acceleration in a Prado had no influence, but I dont need that when cruising the outback SA or Northern Flinders!

We picked up our new Pearl White VX D4D with optional SatNav a couple of weeks ago,

$73,500 driveaway.

In hindsight the SAT Nav was too expensive at $2,500, we should have taken a VX at $71,000 and fitted an after market system.

Oh well, it's always easy in hindsight!

I should also mention that the Dealer offered a Silver GXL D4D Auto to us for $60,000,

Not the best deal going by earlier Posts, but not too bad.

So I picked up the car today and drove it home to surprise the wife, eveyone's happy :-) And photos and stuff to follow later.

I did get a comment from the dealer about the post that I put up earlier, so they do read the forum and know that the prices are floating around.
However here is a special message to the numpty that printed my post and went into the dealer to demand a better price after he had sealed the deal. I published that information to help people get into a prado and to show the great service I got, it doesn't mean your circumstances are the same as mine. That has to be the worst sort of negotation technique I have ever seen, get with the program and use the information but don't print the post and embarass me and you in the process.

Bought in South Australia a GXL d4d turbo diesel, auto, towbar, floor mats, window tinting and metallic paint. Paid 62.5k feel like i paid to much,

Hi Telf, Thats pretty good $$ when you think of the discount with accessories! Dont think about it too much its not like you can take it back and ask for a discount

Agree with Scott, and really in the long run, doesn't really matter. In the end you purchased a vehicle that is gonna be FUN!

you only live once, and now you have the wheels, get out there and enjoy your 62.5K in the glorious northern Flinders Ranges; its on our back door!

And i still think that is a good deal.

People must remember that every deal is different. Somebody may quote I got a 150 GXL T/D for $58K. It may be a Jan 10' build so the dealer wants to move it on. Also some of the good deals quoted are manuals. Auto are at leasT $1,500 dearer I think.

Mine according to the builders plaque was built 11/8/2010. Great car - thats my birthday. Picked it up first week of October. Petrol/auto/gxl/mats/towbar/protectors $$62.5K in Tassie. I reckon I got a good deal.

Hey guys,

Big thanks to everyone at PP. I spent many hours trawling through the posts here and found everyone's advice helpful before taking the plunge.

Picked up my GXL TD manual on Friday and very happy so far. $58.6k with rubber mats throughout kept me below the luxury car tax...didn't want to give any more money to the dealer for their "inclusions" and will be spending the next few weeks adding my mods.
