Any whole of life comparison (purchase price, fuel cost, maintenance cost, resale etc) between a diesel and petrol Prado will show costs are so close as to be more or less the same. Only game changer is if you chuck in significant amounts of towing. It is up to how you use the car and how you drive. I have had diesels for so long I don't know what to do with a tachometer that goes past 4,000 rpm! And really only 200kW, i wouldn't get out of bed for a petrol that only has 200kW. Horses for courses and personal choice. And there is no need to tell the owners of Prados with sparking plugs they are disadvantaged. Oh and for all of us diesel owners I found that a nice sharp vegetable knife can sit in the defunct spark plug removal tool space in the tool kit. Very handy.
Mr Toyota where is the iTDV6 for the Prado. Designed by Hino with the bare 150kW and 520Nm. And no issues? My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

I sold my 90 series auto petrol to the mechanic at Sci Fleet as he was impressed with the condition at 270'000kms, 13 years old.

Well another crappy experience with one of the local stealers...
I was there the other day, test drove a GXL.
Me: The other dealer is doing it for 57990, can you beat it?
Dealer: Yes sure can.
Me: I also have a signed toyota form offering a discount through my employer, would this bring it down? (Explained the details)
Dealer: Oh yeah that'd be bring another few k off it.
3 days later...
Dealer: Best we can do is 59,388.
