Bit the bullet and did it.

Bought a new 150 Prado. Ended up ordering the Graphite colour as Blue Storm would take 3 months to get.

Pick it up in 4 weeks.

Have to sell the 120 now. Didn't trade it in as the would give bugger all for it.

Yipee, can't wait.

Well today I have ordered my manual turbo diesel GX for $61,600 drive away which includes

• TJM steel winch bar
• Airtech snorkel
• Old Man Emu heavy duty suspension
• ARB deluxe alloy roof rack
• Hayman Reece towbar
• Tinted windows
• Floor mats
• Bonnet protector
• Headlight protectors
• 90 litres of diesel

I’m very happy with this deal.

Harry I think a $10k difference is about standard unless they have one on the lot they are really trying to move. In my experience it's a good deal. I wish I could have streched the other 10 and got one, and mine isn't even here yet.

I got mine around the same price as it was in stock including towbar and rubber mats(including cargo mat)-so I think you are getting a good deal.

Just about to order a 2010 GXL petrol Prado, Blue Storm in colour and including towbar, headlight/bonnet protectors, cargo mat, floormats for $62,500. This price is in Tassie.

Seems like a good deal from what I can see!

Try CMI they seemed to be the best out of all of them! Just gotta ring around for best price and then play hard ball on the lower 2!
But goodluck one other dalership couldnt match the quote from CMI as the best they could do was $59150 With mats included which was a fairly good price too but i had already been quoted cheaper so thats where i went.

also find the cheapest on-road quote on carsales and tell them to match it otherwise you'll just book a flight to where ever it is and buy from them tey usually will crumble and sell it to you at the dicounted rate...

at the end of the day who wants the commision the dealer that you are at or the one down the road...

Sounds like you have done well, I test drove a 150 at CMI the other day (they gave me the Kakadu, even though it was ridiculously out of my price range), and i was impressed. I have come from a Patrol (forgive me, its a state fleet car), Hilux dul-cab SR5, and a 76 series landcruiser, and I WAS IMPRESSED by the 150. Very good car.

Anyway they started with a 62K price, might have to push harder, but I don't think its quite in my reach- yet.

Hahaha yeah 62k is a fairly good starting point. I know of some people going in there paying 70k straight off and being happy with that! Thats a dealers dream!!
I think they all have a kakudu test car so that people are like 'ooo lala' this is fancy with the different displays, leather, sat-nav and associated goodies then they offer a great price on it to try and sell the more up-market versions for max profit
Im coming from an e-series HSV so the prado isnt to flash in acceleration but i did punt the test car into a 80kmh corner at about 130kmh so its not too bad handling!
But we need a wagon and wanted another 4x4 so the only choice is a toyota! (id have a lc200 in a heartbeat but try telling the missus that 20k+ is worth it) So i'll just have to get used to driving a diesel again, which isnt a bad thing for my drivers licence points.
