  • Re: pricing for the 150

    Hi all,

We purchased our white GXL, auto, T/Diesel – devoid of any accessories, from the local dealer in town, late January of 2010 (didn’t pick it up until week after Easter) for 61K D/away. Considering the 150 Prado was new to the market for only a matter of months we were extremely happy.

    Still am....

    Regards,
    Trevor.

            Hi

Recently purchased a silver gxl d4d auto for $66000 with towbar, headlight bonnet protectors, mats and roofracks the best thing about it is i get it on the 15th january but it will be a 2011 compliance.
If i pushed i may have got a new 1 in december for a couple of thousand less but getting the extra year on the compliance it is worth it because i would say you would roughly loose at least $5000 a year even more just for the sake of 1 month.

              Hi All,

I went through a broker in Brisbane when I bought my Prado (private, not fleet/business) in October this year. From what I've seen of the prices posted here, it was a good deal, and no effort on my part except for a few phone calls. I've got 2 young kids so the idea of spending a couple of weekends trekking around Brisbane haggling over a couple of grand didn't appeal.

Service from broker was excellent (no affiliation, just happy customer), happy to recommend if anyone else is in the market.

              Cheers,

              Alan.

                      Hi
Although I mentioned this in my first post on this forum on another thread, thought should put in this thread as more relevant - yesterday brought new Graphite SX (Aug 2010 build) with mats for $52,000 drive away. Thought it was good deal.
                      Cheers

                            Hi all,

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has purchased their vehicle through a novated lease. Specifically, does a novated lease allow better pricing (and can you discount GST off the price)? I'm considering a white GXL D4D auto, no major extras apart from the usual floor mats/front windshields/towbar. If anyone has purchased a similar model through a lease, I'd be very keen to hear from you. I'm trying to arm myself with as much information as possible before I walk into the dealership.

NB: I've read through this thread to answer my question but can't find the information I'm specifically after. If it is there I'd be happy to be directed to it.

                            Many thanks in advance,
                            Croozer

                            ...gone walk-a-bout.

                              Hi Croozer,

Novated leasing simply means that the finance company claims back the GST instead of you, which means that GST is paid to the dealer and then claimed back.
Novated leasing also means you must have a residual/balloon which falls within the parameters set by the ATO. eg. 5 year loan - residula value must be between 25 - 40.

ALWAYS take a loan with the lowest possible residual.

Always buy the vehicle from the dealer you intend on purchasing from. Even if you have to make couple of calls around to ensure you have the right deal.

Simply shop around or use the information gained from this thread as a guide to get a good deal.
