New vehicle delivery times ?

Just got an update from my dealer today. Im my situation, the price has gone up for the new spec model almost $1300 for a VX D4D with sovereign bar, toyota towbar, rear cargo mat and weather shields.

Now my point is, luxury tax. This price increase reflects in the luxury tax and the GST. I requested that I get a new quote without the accessories with the exception of the metallic paint. The difference is $3000 cheaper. Guess what, I added up the cost of the accessories and it came to $2565.

I was pushing the boundaries of affordability with the VX but this way I can accessorize later for less money and most definatley go for the ARB bar

It pays to re do your calculations with the new spec price upgrade. Well it does if you are affected by the luxury car tax.

Downside: Still been bumped to October build.

Just did a deal on a diesel GXL auto option pack and a fantastic trade in on the petrol one I have now (about 4k more than I would have been happy with )
They are pretty confident on a December delivery.
He did mention that if I wanted one without the option pack, I could have it in October, so if anyone is looking for one soon, they might be worth a shot as they obviouisly have a few coming in that are unallocated at the moment

When I ordered mine there was never a mention of options packs. Even when I have heard it here on Prado point, I decided that I didn't need those options personally anyway, but it was good to know.
Maybe that is why my turn around is so favourable.
Even the salesman was amazed that it happened so quickly!!!

Just got an update on my Grande after 50 days they finally say october build. I was getting so annoyed i took a pajeero exceed for a drive to see if it was worth going mitsubishi, now i know why im waiting 4-5 months.
The noise in the engine compartment is dreadful and it didnt have a lot of extras the Grande has and it was only 2 grand cheaper. :roll:

Just received another email tonight from my dealer. Bumped to "November build - yet to be confirmed"

Seriously thinking about cancelling order.

hang in there guys.

i ordered in may for a july delivery, bumped to august, and looking like september 17 or maybe 25 september.

it'll be worth the wait to get exactly what i wanted but with the bonus of the upgrade features.

i had to pay out my lease vehicle in july so i'd have something to drive to work but the 2002 Holden Frontera doesn't really compare to the 120 series with the D4D turb diesel. I'll save 5 litres of fuel per 100 km to start with.

all I can say again is, hang in there. it might be annoying but the wait is worth it. they'll eventually contact you when they want you to take delivery. until then, think happy thoughts and use the time to buy more accessories like a fridge or snatch straps.

It's great to see some orders coming through I put my deposit down this week to get in before the cutoff for the Sept batch of orders.
How much are people being charged for the safety packs?
Seeing how the price was a secret until this week a lot of people have been putting their money down in good faith not knowing how much they would be charged.
As for you poor sods being bumped down the line you should get your money back no questions asked if Toyota cant deliver in the specified time. :lol:

Hi Gang,
Would not have a clue when my GXL D4D arrives, but it will be worth the wait I hope. I have ordered Dune colour as it is similar to the Nissan/Datsun colour which I think will be one of the few on this site. Every Tojo up here is white so I thought I might be different.

As long as I get some warning so I can sell my 98 Nissan Patrol which I dont think I will have any problems.

My tracking details have been updated, it's indicating scheduled for or in production with a latest delivery date of 4 November. So I called the dealer (Barossa Valley) and got told it would be received in Adelaide on the 18/19 October and then delivered to me about 1-2 weeks later. (I ordered it on the 28 June)

So I have a little light at the end of the tunnel. Now just to off load my Nissan X-Trail to finance the accessories.

I don't think you have any worries then. My internet tracking gives a latest delivery date 4 November, and the dealer said that was worst case.

It should be delivered well before that. Let's hope he keeps his word, I leave to head to Perth on the 2 November. The wife would love the car before I leave.

I just called my lease company to get a recalc on the new pricing and they told me that they were in the process of doing it anyway because.......... SOMEONE HAD CANCELED THEIR ORDER SO I WAS GETTING IT INSTEAD. :shock: You Beauty 4months earlier than expected. .!!!!!!

Expect to have it by the end of this month new spec and all. Woo!!! Hoo!!!
