New vehicle delivery times ?

Contacted my dealer today and...... DELIVERY APRIL 29!!!!

After having been told May/ June, this was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. I spoke to him at length about the delay, and he told me that there is a largea mount being delivered to Australia around this time. Bad news he told me was that it was only a fraction of what is needed. He told me that there is going to be another "significant" delay for those that aren't being delivered around this time.

Given this, I would encourage all of you who don't have a firm date as yet to get in your dealers ears and find out a date ASAP, otherwise it may be another three or four months....

Well finally pick up the Prado tonight ordered 25/10 and delivered 12/3, New tyres go on in the morning Cooper ATR's and VMS sat nav system installed tomorrow as well. Unfortunately ARB booked out until after easter so will have to wait for the rest of the goodies. Couple of quick questions, Does the VX come with middle head rest in 3rd row seats, if so mines missing. Does the side mirror control and dash iilluminator switch light up at night? Only 2 minor disappointments park light blown and delivered with empty fuel tank. $242- later is now full. Hence after a whole 47km of driving so far very happy. Thanks

Congrats ScottC. Regarding the headrest for the rear seat. Open the rear door and you will notice a zip in the rear of the seat. The headrest is within.
If you turn your parking lights on, I believe they should light up. I am speculating here as my Prado is being picked up Friday. Just remembered these issues within the threads of Pradopoint.com.
In future, just use the "Search" button at the top of the screen. You will find hundreds of items this way!

Bloody rude getting your Prado from the dealer without fuel. I enquired a while ago and my dealer has a policy that all vehicles receive a full tank, or upto 70 litres of fuel. Better than nothing, just adds that little bit of satisfaction.

I ordered my GXL D4D Auto Option Pack #1 on 11 December 2007. I received a call from the dealer telling me that it will be ready for pickup on Friday 14 March 2008. Thats a wait of 3 months, short by some comparisons, but long for any vehicle.

Worst thing about the phone call was ARB is also having up to one month delay in supplying their Delux winch bar. Which was supposed to be fitted today. Although the dealer ordered it over 2 weeks ago, I find out today that I will be waiting another two weeks. ARB will fit the bar anywhere I want. So that is good customer service recognising the wait for the Bar.

The only good thing about all this is another 4 sleeps to go :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: . And with the help of PML120r - we are fitting the OME suspension Friday afternoon/evening. Then wheel alignment Saturday morning first thing.
I bet, like other waiting PP members, that I wont be sleeping at all this week. :shock: :shock: :shock:

4 sleeps!!!! So jealous! You will have it in time for Easter after all! Great stuff.

Hi All,

Regarding the Amount of fuel the Dealers supply, unless you ask for it in your New Vehicle Sales Agreeement, the Dealer will only fill to about 90L (i.e. one Tank).

I ask and got both my tanks filled (180L) at time of delivery.

I'am live in Gladstone Qld, I ordered a Prado on 14th Feb the dealer did say around 3mth wait on the GXL D-4D Charcoal Grey with Soveriegn Bull Bar towbar Duel Battery headlight & bonnet protectors cargo mat hard wheel cover & brake controller. Been looking around forum for a while was thinking about buying a Pajero but brain kicked in and ordered the Prado. Very happy with the decision, but not so happy with the wait. Now thinking about purchasing a GME TX3440 UHF with a CD9000 ariel and some recovery gear, anyone suggest a kit you can buy, as I am very (first 4x4) new to 4 wheel drives, will use it to tow a Millard 17' Caravan and to go to places we could'nt before without the 4x4. I have emailed the dealer twice asking for tracking details with no response bit poor to say the least I intend to go in shortly and ask them face to face but work has kept me very busy

Delivery delay

Hi Mick 4680,

Interested to know when you car is expected. I ordered my D4D Auto GXL on Jan 2, 2008 and just told this week that delivery now expected July (this is the 4th consecutive time the dealer has revised the delivery timeframe) 3-4 mths is now 7mths. I am not happy and not sure why Toyota is not being open and rrealistic about delivery delays. i know another forum member who ordered in September last year and his dealer said June this year ...... Why does no one tyell us this when we order vehicles?????
