Ordered 10th December 2007 through LeasePlan. Given 12th May delivery, now been told 12th August. Dealer said they have 120 on order and they are lucky if they get 20 a month to hand over. Now i have started to wonder if i should be looking for something else  (It's hard to consider this option when we are so set on it) or try see a positive in it by having some more time to get some more goodies for it.

Welcome to the waiting room, the wait its a WA thing, next time I will get the dealer to commit to a date for delivery.
No different in the city a 6 month wait in WA is the norm you will find the dealers tend to stretch the truth on delivery ask for a firm date and they turn to water.
The waut will be worth it I hope

Toyota Order Tracking System has been updated from a build date in May 2008 to Latest Estimated Pick Up Date: 10/06/2008 .
Might call the dealer to hear their spin on things and remind them to have the non Toyota accessories ready..2008 Silver GXL D4D Auto - Lightly Accessorised ! - Yet to be locked, Lifted and Loaded !

Hopefully you guys get some good news soon. I'm in the same boat, where we had our hearts set on the Prado, but contemplated something else. We did a Pro's and Con's for other 4WD's, like Pathfinders, Patrols, 100 Series, but we kept coming back to the Prado. I don't regret the wait for one minute, but there were times where I wanted to spit it and go elsewhere.
Best of luck and chin up
Cheers,

IT HAS ARRIVED!!!! 8) 8) 8)
Picked the bugger up at 4:30 this afternoon. It had a beautiful 4 kms on the odo. However  ..... when we ran our eyes over it before we drove out, we noticed a heap of scratches all over the guards and doors. Pointed this out to the dealer (who tried to play it off of course). What seems to have happened is that with a sprinkle of rain today, it has become dirty (the joys of a black Prado  ), so they have given it a once over with a chamois, and carved up the paint.
So I have the car today and tonight, take it back tomorrow and they will give it a cut and polish and get all the scratches out. I knew the delivery wouldn't go smoothly, nothing has.
On the plus side, it is an absolutely awesome CAR to drive, as it doesn't handle like a 4by at all. I'm happy as a pig in $h!t with it and it was worth the wait.
Now the fun begins.... Sandgrabba's put in as soon as I got it home, ARB Steel bar to be ordered tomorrow and who knows from there!
For all who are still waiting, be patient, you won't regret it in the long run. It was worth every mintue and every HF along the way.
Pictures to be posted ASAP.
Cheers,

Its always good to hear another happy prado'er although it hardly surprises me with the quality that is produced.
Good to hear your new car is finally here AJ.
One word of warning though - you will do more KM's than you ever thought possible cause it is such a sweet ride. :lol:07 Prado GXL, D4D manual, silver and a fridge with constantly changing beer levels.

At long last vehicle in transit to Australia estimated pick up date is 8th June Dealer should have it the 4th June he tell me 5 to 7 days maybe less and we should have it. Then have less than 3 weeks to enjoy the drive before we are off to NZ for a month. I have spoken to the dealer to ensure all our options are scheduled to be installed and ordered so there are no delays.
Not quite a 9 month labour (5 months) but at least the babies  on the way.
It's amazing you wait forever then when you know theres only a few more weeks to go you want it now now now :P
I will try and post pic's depends if I can pull up long enough to take them I would like to get the 1000k on the D4D and serviced before we leave. :P
