  • Re: Introductions

    Hi All,
new to PP and Prado's, have just purchased a 05 GXL turbo diesel auto.
I have been busy making it how I want it, it had a bullbar and towbar fitted genuine and tinted windows. So I have fitted new stereo wich has bluetooth and iPod functions, XGT Lightforce spotlights, Safari snorkel so far. Now just have to fit an external tranny cooler and have the 150k service done.
    Anyway Hi

I don't think I have introduced us to the group so here goes. We have been lurking and reading various posts where we have discovered some really great information. Currently we have been researching tyres which has been most helpful. It's a great site.

      Name: Bruce and Di
      From Adelaide

      Model: 150 Series D4D Automatic
      Year: 2010
      Colour: Silver

      Accessories:
      ARB Deluxe Bullbar
      Safari Snorkel
      Window Tinting
      Toyota towbar and fittings
      105amp Blue Apple Thumper
Black Widow Drawers and fridge slide
Cargo Barrier and Top Shelf from Black Widow
      Polyairs to the rear
      Tekonsha Prodigy Brake Controller
      Canvas Seat Covers
      Engel Fridge
      Air Compressor

      Wishlist:
      Really still to come
Probably BFG LT All Terrain Tyres as we have used these for years
      UHF Radio
      possibly upgrade front suspension

We will use our Prado to tow our Coromal Corvair Poptop as well as our Kimberley Kamper and will use it for many an outback trip. Previously we owned a Troopy and had a wonderful time with that. Have also owned an 80 Series and our very first was a Jackaroo.

      Cheers,
      Bruce and Di

                    Hello there!

After lurking for a while, I've decided to register and join the fun!

Based in Wellington (NZ), I own a 1996 Prado SWB 3.4 V6, imported from Japan about 10 years ago. No major mods yet, largely used on-road but takes the occasional trip into the mud and dirt.
It's more like our family explorer verhicle that frequently gets stuffed with our bags, camp gear and the dog for a tiki tour through NZ or it is used as a towing car for the horse.

I'll probably post some more details on the car in the 90 series section

Looking forward to be on here and to hook up with other Prado owners!

                      Hi there

After Joining PP Feb 2010 this is my first posting day - bit slow I know. Couldn't do a posting until I could honestly say I have a prado (At lease on order).

This is my 2nd Prado - due end Jan 2011. - I call myself a Prado Tragic (PT)

First one was a 2003 120 GXL V6 bought new and sold on 2005 (what a tragedy) - It had Bullbar, Lights, Roof Console and GME TX4400 UHF Radio,Roof Racks, Sheepskin seat covers and towbar. Had to sell because I couldn't get the use out it. 800 Kms in 6 months. Couldn't drive 3 cars at once.

Been waiting 5 years for the next one - this time a 150 GXL D4D Auto White - no extras to avoid any LCT.
Needed it to tow my 2t caravan - Commodore too light. (also a Commodore Wagon Tragic - had 7 wagons VS to VZ@VE in 13 years) Can't beat'm for space but they can't go where Prados can go.

When it arrives - then the extras will come. PP is sure a bit of a risk to surf when you see all the bits PT's are adding.

Googled Carsales.com for about 3 years on 2nd hand ones before convincing myself to get a new 150 D4D before the AUD$ goes down again (Who knows when that will happen ).

PP is a great site - plenty of helpful info on everything under the sun and problems like the mudflaps issue - hoping Toyota will have it fixed mine gets built.

Looking forward to many hours of reading PP and upgrading (William's rig build had been great to follow) and driving the 150 when she arrives.

                      Cheers

Cheers and congrats to everyone for such a great resource of info.
