      Gooday all,

I just like to introduce myself and say what a great forum and thank you for letting me join.

I bought my 2004 Prado Grande last week and am loving it. I found this site when searching to upgrade my sat nav disc...........and to my joy found a thread where one of the members suggested going to a web page where I could download the software . I followed the advice and long story short, I have already saved myself $300.

I am hoping to have a long and enjoying life with my new Prado and to add to the pleasure I have found a great site where I look forward to sharing ideas and pictures with you all.

      Regards

      Richard

        Hi all,
I'm new to this forum. So impressed with it, I had to join.
Just bought the Prado below (my first). Previously owned an '85 4Runner and an '89 4Runner which I have on the market now.
Travelled quite a bit around Oz and schooled in Alice Springs, so hoping I can contribute positively to the forum.

Model: GXL D4D 6 speed manual.
        Year: 2007
        Colour: White
        Accessories: Towbar, roof bars.
Wishlist: Alloy Bull Bar, Snorkel, Dual batteries, OME Suspension, Recovery points, UHF radio.

How have you set your Prado up?
Haven't yet, just getting it mecahnically sound as the previous owner let the servicing slip. The first thing I did when a got it home was an oil and filter change! I have it booked in at Toyota for the 80k service... from then on, I'll service it myself every 5k. Will be setting it up for touring.

            Hello all,

Have loved Prados for awhile, but never quite took the plunge. Just ordered a 150 GXL manual in silver after months of 2nd hand searching, those 120s hold there price!!

4X4 experience is mainly in Patorls, as well as a 76 Landie and a Hilux, great fun, hate the Patrol (Auto 3L) but enjoyed the others. Done the Simpson, and a massive range in the Flinders, especially the northern range.... brilliant area if you know where to go,

Anyway, looking forward to getting out more, and getting to know you all,

Great site, good 4X4ing and keep it up

                  G'day Everyone.

I joined pradopoint back in June as I thought I would be the proud owner of a 150 SX by now.

I am patiently waiting for a 3rd Party Insurance claim from a Motorcycle accident almost 4 years ago, to be finished so that I can afford to buy a new Prado to tow a Jayco caravan around Australia.

Still patiently waiting. Ah well, one of these days

My previous 4WD experience has been in a 1986 t/diesel Jackaroo (bought new) which was traded for a 3 door 1995 Discovery Tdi in 2000 that I still have. I was a member of a 4WD club for about 6 years until my accident. Learnt alot and had a great time.

Love the forum and have learnt alot about Prados from reading all the different posts. Thanks everyone.

                  Regards

                  • This is great!

I'm from the USA. I have a 2007 120 platform GX470. I have lots of friends with FJ Cruisers and 4Runners that are 120s but nobody running a Prado body. I sold my 99 4Runner that was locked front and rear on 33s and I'm starting over with something newer. I'm excited to find people who wheel and mod these.
So far I installed a 7300 lb receiver and prodigy to tow our caravan, an ARB ckma12 for air and maybe a locker later, a cb radio and a 2.25" lift up front (the rear has adjustable air bags instaed of springs)
I also came up with a sway bar disconnect system for the front end.
Wish list: ARB 132 locker (not really convinced on the ATRAC) a bit of armour, bigger tires, more articulation.

Accessories: Dual Batts, Alloy bar, BFG 265/75r17 A/T's
Wishlist: It's probably best not to get me started on this subject, but for now, I'll test it on a few tracks I know and then decide what it really needs.

                          Hi Im Terry (Limo Guy)
Found out about this forum following a Prado in Perth with pradopoint.com on rear window.
Bought a new 150 Prado 23000kms ago in April this year to replace HZJ75 Troopy after 430000kms.
Towed my 12ft caravan from WA to Vic after the 1st 10000kms did 11000kms on the trip.
Found the economy and power more than I expected.
Owning a Limo I don't get to do the trips as often as would like
                          Model GX
                          Diesel Auto
                          Colour White
Toyota tow bar and dual batteries.
ARB Bull Bar and roof rack.
GME UHF CB mounted under dash, controls on mike

                            Hi All,
First post on this wonderful forum. I was initially looking to get the facelift kluger and while browsing the web i came upon this wonderful forum. Got hooked to it and was a silent admirer at the wealth of knowledge on this forum. Ultimately this forum made me switch to a Prado from the Kluger and i finally took the plunge couple of weeks ago. I got the 150 GXL D4D GRAPHITE and had already put 2200 kms on it on the changed tyres of Bridgestone Duelers. Currently the only addition to the stock vehicle is window tinting.

Thanks to you all for your fantastic posts and inspiration.
