Cheers Steve, had plenty of time to plan it all while waiting for delivery. (5 months). I figure that the sooner i have it set up how i want the sooner i can get out the and enjoy.

Hi, my name's Dion…. but most people call me "Moz" I move around a bit… i'm actually from SE-QLD (Burleigh Heads) most of my family are in the se corner of QLD, however… at the moment i'm in Darwin, moving down to Perth for the rest of this year in a week or two but probably return to the territory (i love it here!) in late december.

I'm on my second Prado…. Back in '08 I got my first one, a new d4d GXL which I sadly only had for about 6 months, before i changed jobs and copped a fair bit of a pay reduction, didn't want to suffer so much… but i couldn't give up a prado… so i got rid of it and picked up a cheap '04 petrol GXL, which i still have now…

Was a stock car with genuine toyota bulbar and a set of BFG 265/70/17 A/T's on it.

…for a brief period of time i had a set of IPF spotlights and an ARB Roofrack fitted, when the car went into storage for a little while whilst i completed training in my new job (ADF) when i had the car delivered to me, i removed and sold the roof rack and the spotties went missing in transit.

Since then i've done very little to the car…

It's just about time for another set of tyres… so the immediate future has me looking at new rubber (maybe rims) and a look at the lighting situation as I am about a week away from a drive from darwin to perth… the lightforce xgt's get very little use as i live in town, i upgraded the stock headlights with a set of H4 HID's a while back and didn't have any issues… put a pair of the "combo" covers on the light force lights recently… but still not entirely happy with the light output… so it's what i need to play around with at the moment.

Hi everyone, love the site, every time i googled anything for my Prado (ive only had it for a month), someone on Pradopoint seemed to be able to answer my questions so i thought id better sign up! ok so here it is:

Accessories: ARB Deluxe Winch bar, Hella rallye 4 compacts, tow bar, ARB air compressor (hasnt been installed yet, its out of my previous truck)
Wishlist: Lightforce XGT's (the hellas are alright but we do a LOT of night country driving), headrest DVD players, reverse light, UHF, dual batterys, 50L fridge.

Im sure that list will greatly expand pretty quick, but thats enough to get me started on it anyway.

Year: 2010
GXL diesel black auto.
Not a lot of added bits yet, except a towbar.
Wish list: rust proofing (if req'd?), roof tray, Dual batteries, 50L fridge, compressor fitted, Hmmm more I'm sure.
Also if anyone has a intro 4wd course, I'd love to do one (Brisbane). Mostly planning just beach driving.

Have a look for a good club. Most clubs (Land Cruiser club and Nissan club etc) will provide training as part of the joining fee. Have a good look around as there are lots of options

Allan here. Long time reader of this great site and have actually been a member for quite a while but never got around to posting for a variety of reasons. Thought it was about time I started to contribute.

I'm on my second Prado. Had a 2002 95 Series for a few years but came across a nice second hand 120 a couple of years ago and decided to upgrade. Couldn't be happier. Details are:

Model: GX with option pack.
Year: 2008
Colour: White
Location: Canberra, ACT

It came to me via the Victorian Government who had kindly outfitted it with a Sovereign bullbar with winch cradle (unfortunately they kept the winch), dual battery system, cargo barrier, tow bar and roof bars. I've since added IPF halogen driving lights, Uniden UHF CB, Safari snorkel and ARB suspension.

Future plans are possibly to add a winch, in-dash navigation unit with Oziexplorer, drawers/fridge slide in the back and a better roof rack or roof bars.

Main plan is to get out there and use it!

Hi All,

I've been reading plenty in the lead up to purchasing by new Prado in May, I joined up and have been slack on the intoduction side of things so I thought I better pull my finger out.

It's my first Prado and first 4wd details are:

2012 Silver D4D Altitude

So far it has:
Cooper AT/3's
Carpet mats (Sandgrabba's in transit)
Whispbar roof bars
Allins Towbar
Headlamp protectors
Bonnet protector(dark not clear) - Freebie after a stuff by the dealer

Wishlist:

TJM T13 bar - booked in for August (All the cracking talking in the other tread has me a little spooked though)
Driving Lights - Either Halogens or a cheap set of HID's off the net
Cargo liner that can handle wet suits etc piled up in the back, ideally something with sides not just a rubber mat

Anything else will be after more is done to the house.

I'd like to say it will be getting dirty most weekend's but unfortunately at the moment it will be the odd day/weekend trip, a bit of interstate driving and hopefully a sneaky drive up the middle using visiting mum in Darwin as an excuse to do some driving in the top end.

This is a great site, to those that keep it running thanks for your time and effort and thanks to everyone for posting so much useful info.

What a great site, congratulations.

Her Prado- she just lets me wash it, fill it with fuel and chauffeur her around!

Having worked at Toyota for 7 years from the age of 15 the 120 Prado was the 4x4 I have always wanted and earlier this year I got one, so now I'm looking forward to building her up and meeting like minded people around Adelaide and Australia. Is there any sort of regular get together that goes on in Adelaide?
